Area
Donaghadee is a delightful town resting on the North East coast of the Ards Peninsula and is the closest point to Scotland. The town offers a wonderful blend of contemporary buildings with historical landmarks which include a Norman motte, a pretty harbour and Grace Neill’s Pub which is reported to be the oldest pub in Ireland. As you wander through the streets you will find a superb selection of shops, pubs and eateries. Attractions within the town include the harbour and lighthouse, where you can discover the breath-taking views across the Irish sea and on a clear day you will be able to see Scotland. Another attraction within the area is the A2 road which follows the coastline of County Antrim, with opportunities for stopping off in Counties Down and Londonderry. Alternatively, head to the town of Bangor where you will find three golf courses and the Pickie Funpark, or venture to Northern Ireland’s capital Belfast which was the birthplace of the RMS Titanic. Donaghadee is a wonderful base for exploring this part of Ireland.

Northern Ireland is a superb holiday destination with a fantastic coastline and wonderful countryside to discover. Visit the Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, the Bushmills Distillery and Belfast, the provinces capital city.
