Area
Resting at the foot of a serene, emerald valley in County Antrim you will discover the brilliant coastal settlement of Glenariff. Also referred to as 'Waterfoot', the names used interchangeably, this quaint seaside settlement is best known for being one of the gateways to the magnificent 'Glens of Antrim', or as the locals call it 'The Glens', a collection of nine outstanding valleys that stream from the Antrim plateau, and which are themselves classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In Glenariff, you will find Kearney's Costcutter, which sells homely essentials, along with the eateries of No 9 Café & Chippy and The Saffron Bar, and the attractions of Waterfoot Hedge School, Waterfront Beach, Glenariffe Harbour, and The White Arch. For a full day out, visitors can enjoy a hike through one of the many mountain trails found within the AONB, whilst in neighbouring Cushendall, eager tourists can delight with a day spent on Cushendall Beach, snap shots of the glens from Fairy Hill of Tiveragh, or soak in some history at The Curfew Tower.
