Holiday with child and dog. The location is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, walkers - the dunes invite you to do so - and for families. A riding school is in the immediate vicinity, the beach can be easily reached by a walk of about half an hour to 3/4 hour (dog beach without catering facilities, so pack it!) But you have peace and quiet there, even in the main travel season, and the dog can do it romp around freely. The main beach on the beautiful promenade with places to eat can be reached quickly by car (max. 10 minutes). However, dogs are not allowed there in the high season and finding a parking space is like magic. There is of course also a dog beach there, but logically all hell breaks loose in July and August and the search for a parking space becomes a nightmare. Then rather lubricate rolls and walk the 2.5 km through the dunes to the beach. The little town of Norrdwijk aan Zee is inviting and highly recommended for a short, leisurely stroll. The nearby Noordwijkerhout is better suited for grocery shopping, as you can even park in the parking garage for 2 hours free of charge. The lady at the reception is also happy to help and explain how to get there. The house itself was clean and tidy. Of course you can see signs of the previous tenants here and there, but I think that's normal and not really worth mentioning. I'm sure if we had complained about the slightly tattered broom we would have gotten a new one. It was okay for our stay and we noticed the musty smell from the drain foot in the bathroom when we left, which was gratefully accepted. Otherwise everything was top notch. We'd love to come a third time - but then it's better to come back in the off-season ;)
