Step back in time at this historic Sicilian estate. Set amid sprawling botanical gardens, it feels like a private oasis with a swimming pool, tennis court, and even a chapel adorned with frescoes. Inside, period features have been lovingly preserved – think open fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, and tiled floors paired with draped fabrics and antique furnishings. A live-in chef and daily cleaning mean you won’t have to lift a finger. Nestled in the countryside between Syracuse and Catania, the estate is just fifteen minutes from the beach and a short drive from the owner’s winery, where you can enjoy an exclusive tasting.

Home truths:
*There are five bedrooms on the first floor of the main house, three more in the courtyard wing and one in a separate building. Two of the bedrooms in the courtyard wing can be set up as doubles or twin beds on request.
*Not all of the bedrooms have in-built air conditioning, though it is possible to add a portable air conditioning unit on request.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*Well-behaved pets may be able to accompany you during your stay with prior approval from your host.
*There’s a chapel on the grounds – while it’s consecrated, it’s only available for symbolic ceremonies.
*The swimming pool may only be available for use between certain dates – please speak to your host to confirm.
*The gardens are part of the foundation Grandi Giardini Italiani and are occasionally subject to guided tours.
