Olives & Lemons in Massa Lubrense, Campania

Description
We don’t think it’s greedy to want multiple angles of something beautiful, which is why this home on the Sorrento Coast caught our attention. From it, you’re not only blessed with views of the deep-blue Gulf of Naples, but because you’re facing the island of Capri, you’ll see it in the distance alongside the mighty Vesuvius. Watch the view change from terrace to terrace, balcony to balcony as you make your way around the modern interior to discover the treasures each room beholds. We can tell you now that some of the bedrooms have private terraces for you to enjoy your morning coffee from. Others simply open to a Juliet balcony, but there’s one bedroom in particular that has a terrace that’s really more of an observation deck. We recommend looking out from there as often as possible to simply appreciate the view.

Of course it would only be right for you to also spend a significant time in the infinity pool where you can compare notes on the vistas – for research. Outdoors is where the group can really thrive, given all that space. The home is set on two hectares of land, allowing for a big garden where kids can run around, exploring the Mediterranean plants, olive groves, and lemon trees. This would also make a fabulous spot for stargazing when the sun has gone to sleep and the stars wink to life, but before that, gather on the roof terrace for an alfresco dinner. Or to really enjoy the finer things in life, have a chef come in to cook some of the most authentic plates of food whilst you sit back with a glass of regional wine.

There’s a lot of history – both fact and myth – so go forth and discover it. Massa Lubrense, for one, is a seven-minute drive away, and apparently the land of the Sirens. It’s also olive oil and limoncello world, so sample some of the finest wares to take back home. Baia delle Sirene is a nine-minute drive away if you’re looking to spend the day camped out at the beach and there’s a beautiful hiking area to explore at Pineta di San Costanzo, reachable by car in fourteen minutes.

Further afield you’ll find Pompeii just over an hour’s drive away, but it’s well worth the trip out to not only explore the history of this UNESCO Heritage Site, but to also visit the Hercalaneum, a twenty-minute drive on from Pompeii.
