History Aherlow Castle was originally built in 1805 . The house was bought as a ruin in 2003 by the current owners Freda and Declan Roche. Freda's family lived in Aherlow Castle from 1949 to 1955 so its was a life long dream of her's to restore the house and make it a family home again. The restoration was completed in 2008. In the local area the house is very much a hidden treasure, concealed by the surrounding forest, so as to create a haven for peace and quiet.
