Located on a wonderful slow-paced peninsula with views of the sea over to Achill & Belmullet. Walk out the front door and you can take enjoy a lazy stroll along the quiet roads. You have the beautiful Doohooma Bay Beach is just a 5 min drive away or take a packed lunch and take stroll there. You will find 2 great pubs within 5 mins of the house – the Tra Bui which serves great food and has live music each weekend of the summer & also the wonderful Sea Rod Inn. Also within 5 mins you have the Erris Coast hotel, so you have plenty of options for enjoying a night or meal out in the area.There are plenty of family friendly beaches to enjoy on the peninsula, aswell as a playground in the little village of Gweesalia. Take a day out and head to the Belmullet. Enjoy the Tidal pool in for a swim followed by a 99 or coffee! There is some great salmon, seatrout and brown trout fishing in the area over seen by the Bangor Erris Angling Club This includes fishing on the Owenmore river and Carrowmore Lake.There are many attractions to enjoy within an hours drive. The much-loved market town of Westport is just an hour away with the wonderful Westport House. The remarkable neolithic site at Céide Fields containing the oldest known stone-walled fields in the world – dating back nearly 6,000 years, is just 40 minutes away. Pack a picnic and head to the Ballycroy National Park for the day just 20 minutes away. The park is also is also Irelands 1st International Dark Sky Park, but you don’t need to head to the park, you can cosy up with a hot chocolate and enjoy the skies from right out side the house!Belmullet is just 25 minute drive away and has large supermarkets, places to eat and the peninsula has beautiful white beaches. Call down to the Blacksod Lighthouse and find out their involvement in the D Day landings. If you are into walking, check out the stunning Erris Head looped walk and many other great walks in the area.Make sure to check out the Geesala Festival that takes place each August (11th to 18th). For 2023 they are adding the Far West Festival on Aug 18th & 19th. They have great acts lined up including Gavin James, Basement Jazz, Lyra, Jenny Greene & many more. This property is perfect for enjoying the week long festival and the music festival!
Inside: This is a lovely bright house. You enter into a small hallway with a cosy sitting room to your right. Here you can enjoy the open fire while you enjoy an evening in front of the TV. Further down the hallway you will find the kitchen. This is a lovely family room with everything you would need to cook up a feast, with cosy seating and a large dining table. Perfect for the kids to enjoy an activity on while you can have a coffee in the comfy seats. Off the kitchen you will find a utility room with Washer and dryer, and plenty of space to leave your boots and jackets as you come I the back door.Further down the hallway you will find, a large modern family bathroom with walk in shower – this is perfect or anyone with a disability. There are 3 double rooms, one ensuite with a newly refurbished en suite.
