Area
The small town of Bangor Erris is ideally situated for anglers resting besides the River Owenmore and is close to Carrowmore Lake. Salmon and sea trout can be found at Carrowmore Lake, making it a popular spot for fly-fishing. The Bangor Trail, a hiking path that passes through the Nephin Beg Mountain range, is located to the south of the town, which is conveniently located on the main road connecting Ballina and Belmullet, providing access to the entirety of County Mayo. After a long day of seeing the area, the town offers three pubs that are sure to greet you with open arms and some Irish hospitality.
