Stayed at Lovers Lodge as a group of friends (2 couples and 1 single). House was clean and had everything we needed. Comfortable living room and spacious, well equipped kitchen, although if our full party had been able to come, there wouldn't have been enough chairs round the table - house sleeps 8 but only 6 chairs which would have been an issue as we like to congregate around the kitchen/dining table to socialise and eat breakfast together. (Something we've noticed before and is very annoying with holiday lets - why can't basic things like a chair each be provided?)
Bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable with extra bedding provided.
Couple of very minor things which could do with being addressed, light didn't work in downstairs bathroom (we tried reporting it but couldn't get an answer to our phone calls), some kitchen items hadn't been washed (teapot left full, utensils dirty - assume previous people put away dirty but they hadn't been checked), cooker not secured and moves. Nothing which affected our stay but just to keep an eye on/resolve to ensure standards don't slip. The little things make a big difference, eg no welcome pack, a small gesture which is always appreciated after a long journey.
Location is good - walking distance into the city centre. Recommend a stop off in the Nore Bar on the way - great beer and a friendly welcome from staff and locals.
Area is very quiet with a park and nature reserve opposite. Not very big but a pleasant walk.
Plenty of parking, though note is a gravel drive, flat at the top but up a bank.
