With less than 2 weeks to go, I was contacted to say the owner has withdrawn the accommodation which was paid for, in full, in November 2021. We were offered alternatives but none in our chosen location. We had chosen this property very carefully - and paid in advance to secure it - to enable our elderly parents to spend a significant birthday with a relative. We were told the owner of the property has 'withdrawn it for personal reasons'. No further details. Then, to add insult to injury, we were told processing a refund will take another 3-5 days, leaving us a week to try to source an alternative ourselves. To say we are furious is an understatement. We have been offered a paltry 10% in compensation, despite having paid, in full, 4 months ago. Sykes Cottages and The Blue Annex in Tralee have just left us high and dry. Despite entering what we considered to be a binding contract and acting in good faith throughout, we have been left with no holiday. It serms everyone has rights in this situation except the guest. We would like to warn future bookers this could also happen to them.
