Cuinne in Headford, Galway

Description
Cúinne cottage was built in the late 1700’s and still retains the charm of some original features such as the half door, stone hearth and low doorways. It was completely refurbished in 1993 to encompass the comforts of modern living whilst retaining its traditional Irish cottage appeal.

The air of tranquility that pervades the hamlet, with approximately a dozen cottages besides Cúinne, makes it a wonderful place to relax. Situated in an active farming community you are surrounded by birdsong and the peaceful tranquility of nature at its best. There is the added visual of flocks of sheep passing, the cows being driven to milking, the milk lorry calling and tractors rolling by. The area known as Toorard is a typical West of Ireland farming village.

The cottage comprises the following accommodation:

Bedroom 1 - a double bedroom on the ground floor, this bright room has a window on the gable as well as on the front of the cottage.

Bedroom 2 - a twin room with two single beds on the first floor, even though this cosy room is situated under the eves there is full head height. It is light by a velux window and is accessed by a steep staircase.

Bedroom 3 - a small double on the ground floor, this room looks out on to the front of the cottage and has a wash-hand basin with hot & cold taps.

All bedrooms have wardrobes, drawer units, bedside lights and central heating radiators.

The spacious Livingroom features a solid fuel stove which creates a cosy blaze on chilly evenings. The stove will be set ready to light when you arrive and a starter supply of fuel will be left. There is a sofa and two armchairs around the stove. The dining table with six chairs is situated in front of the window looking out over the garden to the rear of the cottage. Two more dining chairs are available if required. A Radio/CD/Audio Cassette player is supplied. The half door opens into the living room and together with a velux and three conventional windows makes the room very bright.

Overlooking the living room is a mezzanine TV lounge with a restful ambiance. Cable TV is available along with a VCR and DVD player.

The kitchenette is fully fitted with a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave oven, fridge, electric oven, grill and hob.

The large bathroom has a bath tub together with a free standing electric shower. Water is heated by an electric immersion water heater or the oil fired central heating.

The cottage is surrounded by mature, enclosed gardens. Sun loungers, chairs, picnic table and bar-b-que are supplied. There are parking spaces for several cars within the garden.
