Perched on the hillside between Elounda and Agios Nikolaos, this villa frames Mirabello Bay from nearly every angle – the pool terrace, the living room, and the sea-facing bedrooms all look out over one of Greece's most spectacular gulfs. Come evening, swimming against that backdrop as the light drops over the water is hard to beat. Downstairs, a fireplace and glass doors opening directly to the pool give the villa a warmth that extends well beyond the Mediterranean climate. Spinalonga's Venetian fortress is a short boat ride away, and the harbour tavernas of Agios Nikolaos are an easy drive down the hill.

* The villa is spread across three floors, so you'll be using the stairs a lot – worth bearing in mind if anyone in your group has limited mobility.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
* Two of the bedrooms on the lower floor can be converted from doubles to twin beds – let your host know your preference before you arrive.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. You'll need to request them in advance.
