A Little Ingenuity in Athina, Attica

Description
Found in the Metaxourgio neighbourhood of Athens, there's something rather unconventional about this apartment and we couldn't help but be won over by its quirky layout.

Upon entering the home, guests are greeted by a very small lounge and a kitchen that's both decently sized and well-equipped enough for cooking up modest meals. When in this space, you only have to look up and you'll see the bedroom on the mezzanine level. There are both industrial-chic and minimalist influences in the design, especially the pared-back staircase that takes you up to the sleeping quarters.

This modern gem feels in keeping with the surrounding neighbourhood, which is home to its fair share of street art and buzzy galleries, including Technopolis a short walk away. Many of Athens' more historic attractions are also close by, such as the Temple of Hephaestus.

Home truths:
*The sofa bed is on the smaller side and might be a squeeze for two people *The main bedroom is on the mezzanine level reached only by a floating staircase *Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace *This home is in a central sport, so noise is to be expected *There's no private parking available, but Gazi metro station is only 300 metres away
