There's certainly no forgetting that you're in the heart of historic Paris at this characterful apartment. Although it's been fully renovated with all the mod-cons necessary for a comfortable city break, the building's history is evident in the exposed wooden beams and brick walls. Spread across two floors, the main living space is in the attic, where you can unwind on the sofa under the eaves. However, we don't think you'll spend much time at home – you're in the heart of the Opéra neighbourhood, where there's plenty to occupy your time, from museum days at the Louvre to nights at the Palais Garnier.
Home truths: *This home is on the second floor of a building with no lift and a steep staircase, so it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility or guests with heavy luggage.
*You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
*This home is above a shopping arcade, so you may hear some noise during the day.
