While it's not the single most important consideration, a skiing holiday can be drastically improved with close proximity to the white stuff. With that in mind, we would just like to mention that this chalet on the outskirts of Megève sits a grand total of a hundred metres from the slopes of Rochebrune.

Of course, that's not the only factor at play – in fact, it might even be a little irrelevant if you're planning to pay a visit during the warmer months. Thankfully, the home itself is of such stellar quality that it would be well worth a visit regardless of location. The open layout of the ground floor is flooded with natural light from the large windows that run along each side, as well as offering some rather spectacular views of the Alpine scenery. Of course, you can take in this landscape with the sunshine on your skin by stepping out onto the home's terrace or wandering through the garden.

Throughout the rest of the living quarters, guests will find a superb collection of amenities that will make their holiday that little bit better. Down on the lower ground level, for instance, the gym will appeal to fitness fanatics and the Jacuzzi to those that like to take things easy, After a day in the great outdoors, a session in the sauna will see you right, as will a session in the whirlpool bathtub or a stint by the roaring fireplace.

As well as long days spent skiing or hiking the mountains that surround the home, the centre of Megève lies only ten minutes away by car and rewards those that make the journey with plenty of restaurants and bars.
