October 2020
We booked this for April, but lockdown prevented us from going, so we rebooked for October, however our family from Switzerland were still unable to travel, and we were all so looking forward to a break, so we ended up here as a couple on our own.
We have not been disappointed, the mill has been renovated beautifully, keeping many of it's historical features intact.
The owners live on site, and gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival despite the heavy rain, and the welcome pack provided more than enough to start your week.
The cottage is seeped in history, warm, roomy yet still cosy, and has everything provided, and we only had to ask if we needed anything.
Being laid out on three floors means stairs are involved so be aware if you are not used to them, it's all part of the lovely experience in this cottage.
The views from the many and varied windows as you climb up the three floors are beautiful, the mill pond and stream on either side driving the water wheel, which is transferred as a delightful rotating feature into the kitchen, the wildlife is in abundance as you walk around the cottage grounds.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope to return with our family in the future, when things get back to normal.
