If you want peace and quiet then this lodge is ideal. The farmhouse is behind you so you just look out over the fields and Bredon Hill. The 2 other smaller lodges are situated at the front of the farmhouse. It is on a working farm (cows) so take fly spray!! The lodge is more spacious than we imagined and the bedrooms are a good size with very comfy beds and plenty of wardrobe space. A full length mirror would be useful though. The bathroom is a good size with a powerful over bath shower and the hot tub adds to the relaxation. The decking has table and chairs and sun loungers plus a gas BBQ. The kitchen is well equipped and the welcome treats were a nice touch ( brownies, bread, milk, apple juice and eggs) as were the wild flowers on the table. There are plenty of books, games and dvd’s. The information pack needs sorting and updating. The nearest pub (The New Inn) is not an 8 minute walk as stated. It’s no longer a pub, it’s flats and looks like it has been for some time. If you keep going past there you will come across The Cropthorn Bell which is very friendly and does good food but it’s a good 20 minute walk from the lodge. Unfortunately the cleanliness in the lodge let it down. It looks like it hasn’t had a good clean in a long time, a lot of cobwebs and dust and the rugs are in need of a good shampoo. (Bedding and towels were spotless though). Having said that, we had a fabulous holiday and visited some lovely places. Broadway village was nice, had an excellent meal in Whistlers Restaurant in Pershore, the Horse and Groom pub in Bourton on the hill has a lovely garden and good food, but the Old Oak in Broughton on the hill was our favourite. Give the Plough and Harrow in Broughton on the hill a very wide berth!!
