Area
Stanbury, a picturesque village in West Yorkshire, is not far from the landscape that served as inspiration for Emily Bronte's novels. It's about 4 miles south-west of Keighley and about a mile from Haworth. Stanbury is located in the middle of farmland and wild moors, not far from the abandoned farmhouse Top Withens, which is widely credited as the creative spark for Emily Bront's Wuthering Heights. As a landmark along the Pennine Way, a National Trail frequented by hikers from all over the country, this location is a major draw for walkers. There are a few bars in the area, as well as a church and a school; however, the town of Haworth, just a short distance away, has many more services. Historical events, exhibits, and a gift shop can all be found at the Bronte Parsonage Museum, the former residence of the Bronte family. The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, made famous by the film The Railway Children, runs regularly to the nearby town of Oxenhope, and makes for a wonderful family outing. York is home to the National Railway Museum and the National Trust's East Riddlesden Hall, both of which are set in lovely gardens. You are also close to the lovely towns of Harrogate and Skipton, and the magnificent Yorkshire Dales. Then there are the bustling urban centres of Leeds and Manchester, each of which offers a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and other entertainment options. An endearing vacation home to call home base.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
