A novel approach and the children (and adults) will love it!  Don’t forget to visit the pier, dating back to the 1900’s, it was originally built as a landing point for the steamships which use to stop off at the town. The distinctive lighthouse is a well known landmark and has been guiding vessels into the historical harbour since the late 1800’s.   It’s worth taking time to explore Walberswick and the fabulous dunes. The village has a good range of tearooms, restaurants, two public houses, an art gallery, original crafts and gift shops. The Walberswick area has over a thousand acres of open access heath and marshland, protected as an Area of Outstanding National Beauty. Keen birdwatchers should head to the RSPB Bird Reserve at Minsmere, just a short drive away.
