Little Beeches is a semi detached cottage situated in the village of Hengoed near Oswestry in Shropshire. Hosting two bedrooms; one king-size and one twin, as well as a shower room, this property can sleep up to four people. Inside, you will also find a utility room, cloakroom, open plan kitchen and dining area along with a sitting room hosting a log burner effect fire. To the outside, is off road parking for two cars and a shared lawned garden with furniture. Situated in a peaceful location, Little Beeches is a charming retreat in a lovely part of England.

Area
The hamlet of Hengoed lies close to the historic town of Oswestry which showcases many notable buildings and a selection of pubs and restaurants. Stroll through Cremorne Gardens, enjoy fishing and sailing or explore Colemere Country Park with its wildlife and scenic walks. This whole area has something for everyone and an abundance of entertainment close by.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request. Off road parking for 1 large car or 2 small cars at front of property. Shared lawned garden with furniture. Gas BBQ available for use, gas included inc rent. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 3 miles and pub 1.5 miles.

Gorgeous little cottage in the back of beyond. So tranquil. Bird song, cows and occasional lawn mower is the only sounds we have heard. Cottage is very thoughtfully kitted out and the decor and furnishings are delightful. Love the separate laundry area and entrance hall. Shame no room for an actual bath, after all the walking this week, a soak would have been heaven, however, the shower has great water pressure. Two toilets in property. Good tv reception, and wifi, except for one day that it dropped off, but June and Mark reset the modem and it came back immediately. Lots of storage and bedding. Helpful welcome pack of juice, bread and milk. Not far to supermarkets at Oswestry. One thing, if you follow the sat nav, don’t turn up the unmade track at the end. The cottage is opposite the house with battlements. Owners live next door, very welcoming but left us to ourselves unless we needed them. Their friendly dog came to visit us.

A very lovely comfy cosy cottage peaceful location yet not far from so many nice places [chirk castle, llangollen, oswestry] very well equipped with lovely owners.. the only thing that would have helped would be a list of local amenities i.e shop ,garage, pubs etc. would definately go again

Received a very warm welcome from the owners of the cottage, who had left milk and bread for us so that we brew up as soon as we had arrived.. The cottage was very well equipped with everything one would hope to find …. and much more. Beds were lovely and comfortable, plenty of towels. Free WiFi. TV also had Netflix. Beautiful garden. It is well situated. Only a few miles from Llangollen and Chester. Chirk Castle is only 3 miles from the cottage and well worth a visit. We also visited Lake Vyrnwy Nature Reserve and Trentham Gardens and Monkey Forrest. The Fantastic Fun House in Oswestry is great for the kids. Overall an exceptionally good place to stay. Little Beeches may just be the best self-catering we’ve ever had (many). We were there in May 2018. We were sorry to leave when our week was up. Little Beeches is beautifully and tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It is a sympathetically updated 18th century building with all the mod cons, including a dedicated utility room with washing machine and separate tumble dryer. It has a very good shower, very comfortable bed, plenty of electrical outlets, and good lighting. It was a pleasure to cook in this kitchen, which is as well equipped as my own. The garden is absolutely gorgeous. The landlord, who lives next door, is friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. It is set in lovely remote countryside but is very close to good roads leading to Chester/Liverpool, Llangollen/North Wales, Ironbridge Gorge, Oswestry, and Powys/Ludlow. Excellent location. Directions are not very helpful. Look for “City Lane” (out in the middle of the countryside). That’s the road to the let.

This is a really delightful cottage so well presented with every comfort you need and spotlessly clean.. We visited in January so it was very cold but the added electric wood effect fires in the living room and the main bedroom made it all so cosy. The beds were very comfortable with beautiful bed linen. The kitchen was so well equipped we could have stayed there for months and the welcome pack of wine, chocolates milk and eggs and juice in the fridge was a lovely gesture. Mike and June were so helpful and friendly too. We are definitely returning in the warmer weather to enjoy all the lovely walks in the beautiful countryside. There is also an attractive big back garden where one can sit out with access through the French doors in the sitting room. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
