Swallows Cottage is a lovely semi-detached cottage situated in the village of Harley, just two miles from Much Wenlock in Shropshire. The cottage can sleep four people in one king-size double and one twin together with family shower room. Also in the cottage is a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with electric fire. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a side patio with furniture and BBQ. Swallows Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful countryside of Shropshire. Children over 12 only

Area
Harley is a pretty Shropshire village with a wealth of history situated just to the west of Wenlock Edge, not far from Much Wenlock. Recorded in the Doomsday Book in 1086 as “A manor with enough wood for a hundred swine” and the pretty village Church of St Mary is first recorded in 1291. The site of a Roman Villa has been found nearby. Harley is also a ‘thankful village’ one of the very few villages which saw no men lost in the First World War.
Region
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Swallows Cottage is lovely - scrupulously clean and thoughtfully provisioned with everything you need for a comfortable stay.. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots to do within a short drive. This was our second stay at the cottage and it was lovely to know that we didn't need to pack extra kitchen equipment as everything you need is there!

An excellent holiday cottage - met all our expectations and is just as pictured.. Very well thought-through, with tasteful and beautiful decor throughout. In a peaceful rural location. Owners are friendly and helpful, but not at all intrusive: they live just across the courtyard. We've rented lots of holiday cottages from Sykes and this is up at the top, with the very best of them.

Fantastic break away.. We had some brilliant days out walking including iron Bridge, church Stretton,Bridge North and the Wrekin. Good area with plenty to do.
Hosts were on hand, very helpful but not intrusive.
Cottage very well equipped, clean and tidy, very comfortable.
Would recommend to friends and family.

The hosts and the the cottage were excellent.. The cottage is in a great location, with the Wenlock Edge, Long Mynd etc all very easty to access. The cottage had plenty of off road parking, was very clean
and very well equipped, even had a coffee machine in the kitchen.

The house was lovely with quality furniture and fittings.. The king size bed was comfortable. The owners were very nice and helpful. There are lots of National Trust and English Heritage places to visit nearby as well as the Severn Valley Railway. You do have to be careful in bedroom to not bang your head on the beams.

We have been with Sykes before so our expectations are always high.. I think this cottage was probably the best we have stayed in so far. It was spacious, clean and extremely well equipped and the owners were friendly and helpful. There was lots to do in the area (we particularly enjoyed the Severn Valley railway and the various English Heritage and National Trust properties nearby). Thanks for a wonderful fortnight, Julia and Nick.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Swallows cottage the owners were really friendly and on hand should you need anything.. The cottage is very well presented with modern décor and fittings. The beautiful weather was an added bonus. There are so many lovely places to visit in the surrounding area. We would love to return.

Swallows Cottage is beautiful.. Set in very quiet countryside with only the birdsong to listen to. Great for a relaxing break. In a good position for exploring Shropshire. The cottage is extremely well set out with every thing one needs for a holiday. Lovely décor and very helpful and friendly owners. I didn't want to leave!

The accommodation and location where even better than listed.. Facilities and the general décor in the cottage are superb with lovely tasteful touches added by the owners Nick and Julia. Nearby Much Wenlock is a little gem of a place with great pubs and shops with plenty to do and see in the beautiful surrounding Shropshire countryside. Go back there again? You bet we would.

A beautifully presented cottage, absolutely immaculate.. Helpful owners but not intrusive. Great to have a bus passing every hour if one wished to use it. Everything one could possibly require was in the cottage. A lovely area to explore with fantastic scenery.
