Riverside is a first floor wing of the owner's Grade II listed former vicarage in the hamlet of Stokesay near Craven Arms. The apartment sleeps two people in one king-size double bedroom. There is also a shower room, a cloakroom and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a shared lawned garden with furniture. Riverside makes a fantastic base for those looking to discover the variety of activities that this area has to offer.

Area
Stokesay is a historic hamlet just south of Craven Arms, famous for Stokesay Castle, a fortified manor house. The River Onny runs through the hamlet and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre is less than a mile away and is a popular destination for visitors wanting to learn more about this lovely part of the county. The A49 crosses the river, forming links with Shrewsbury, Ludlow and beyond to Hereford. The historic medieval market town of Ludlow is situated on the River Teme, amongst the outstanding countryside of the Welsh Marches.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Lovely warm welcome from Mr and Mrs Morgan.. Bed is really comfortable, lovely views from windows. Easy walk into Craven Arms and on to walking the hills. Nearly everyone we met was very friendly.

The cottage was in a great location for visiting the surrounding area.. The owners were really friendly and the cupcakes laid out for our welcome were much appreciated. A very comfortable flat, close to shops / amenities and the owners were lovely and welcoming.. We appreciated the extras such as washing up liquid, toilet rolls, nice bed linen. Thanks for the delicious cakes as well. There is a lovely outlook over the river and Stokesay castle in the distance. It was also nice to see their shy little pony in its stable close to where we parked. Staying here we were able to explore lots of lovely places such as Shrewsbury, church Stretton, bishops castle, Powis castle, ellesmere lakes & canals and so much more. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a lovely peaceful holiday at Riverside.. The accommodation has everything you need and is located in a lovely spot. We could see Stokesay Castle from the window! Peaceful walks and lots of birds watching. We will definitely be returning to Riverside.

We were greeted by the owner Karen who showed us around the cottage which was lovely, and she had even baked us some cakes which were so delicious.. It was such a peaceful place to stay and the views from the windows were delightful. There was plenty of information about the best places to visit and food menues for local eateries for is to look through. Overall one of the nicest places i have ever stayed.

The peoperty is ins a good central location for visiting Powys Castle, Hereford, Ludlow and many other historical places.
