Goosepond Cottage is one of those places which really does live up to expectations.
From the first friendly email from the owner, to the minute we sadly waved goodbye, this has been a lovely experience.
Following the directions given, we found the cottage (in the dark) without a problem. When we arrived, the underfloor heating had been switched on and the whole cottage was lovely and warm.
What a lovely touch - the welcome hamper containing local free range eggs, butter and delicious bread, home made scones and jam and milk in the fridge.
The cottage is dog friendly and is located in a tiny hamlet where numerous other dogs live in a carefree environment. Perfectly located, there are lots of walks to go on without getting in the car. The scenery in the area is beautiful, whatever the weather. The cottage is very tranquil and relaxing, in an ideal spot to explore the surrounding area of the Long Mynd, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Church Stretton and so on. Perfect for walkers and nature lovers.
The cottage is very well appointed, with a cook-friendly kichen area, log burner, big fridge-freezer and a Super Kingsize bed. Piles of towels were provided, the bed was superbly comfortable, fitted with hotel quality bed linen.
Free WiFi and a well-equipped TV, with Amazon FireStick for NetFlix, music, etc.
This review would not be complete without mentioning the water, which is supplied from a local spring. Beautiful, soft, pure water that just tastes fantastic.
Would we go back? Yes, definitely! We can't wait. Would we recommend? Absolutely. Grab yourself a little piece of rural Shropshire life.
