Burford is possibly one of, if not THE most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. With little changing over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and tea shops.

Excellent little bolt-hole in Burford.. Barry and Mandy were very friendly and helpful and the studio, though a bit on the cosy side, was nevertheless very comfortable and clean. Sykes Cottages were easy to deal with. Thank you.

Lime Cottage was a lovely place to stay and from which to explore Burford and many other Cotswolds villages and towns in easy reach by car.. There were great walks from Burford itself as well as a lively and friendly town. Barry was a great host.

Excellent location just minutes from the High Street with a wide variety of pubs, restaurants, tea shops and individual stores.. On arrival we had a warm welcome from owners Mandy and Barry and the fresh flowers, bowl of fresh fruit and milk were also a welcome touch. The apartment is beautifully presented and very comfortable, everything we needed for our stay. We would thoroughly recommend and hope to return soon as there is so much to do in the area and it's central location means all the Cotswold attractions are conveniently nearby.
