April 2021
My partner and I recently stayed at Acorn lodge for 2 nights, this was the first time we have been away since the pandemic began and its safe to say it was everything we could have asked for and more. We were welcomed in by a warm friendly host who gave us a tour (Socially distanced of course) of the lodge and grounds nearby, offering advice and tips on how to use everything and get the best out of our time there with attention to detail for keeping us safe. The place was spotlessly clean and tidy.
The moment we drove in we were amazed by the beautiful landscape which the lodge sat, once inside you have a clear view of the peaceful lake outside the front door.
The Lodge has a fire-pit and grill to cook on instead on an oven which gave us the opportunity to put our BBQ skills into play along with the wood fire hot tub, we really felt like we were part of the experience to make our time special giving the chance to ‘do it yourself’.
Two of the main points for us when we stay away is that the beds are comfortable and the showers are good, I can safely say that the shower was amazing, and water pressure in general was great. The bed was soft and comfortable, plenty of room for two grown adults.
In the evening the lake is lit up with lights all around the area along with some lovely outdoor lighting for the hot tub which gave a very calm and relaxing feel. As there is no light pollution at the Lodge we were able to fully enjoy the sunset and stars at night. The only negative about this place is that we couldn’t stay longer! On our next visit we plan to take advantage of the beautiful walks and pubs nearby as we enjoyed the lodge itself so much we didn’t leave. Great excuse to come back again and enjoy the outdoor seating for dinner.
10/10.
Thanks so much for having us, looking forward to coming again.
