We have just had a three night stay at the Old Bakery in Wooler. It had been a number of years since we had been to the town and we were pleasantly impressed by the town, its new attractions and beauty of the surrounding area.
The cottage itself is centre town and has its own parking space. Grocery shopping and restaurants are all at hand and the cottages’ owner, Kathy, lives close by and is always ready with help and advice.
When we arrived, there were chocolates, a bottle of fruit drink and milk waiting for us. The property was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. There was everything we wanted in the kitchen including microwave, regular oven, plenty of hot water and a washing machine that we didn’t actually use. Apart from the fridge in the kitchen there was also a separate fridge freezer if we needed it.
There was a double bed and a single and both beds were comfortable and there was copious wardrobe and storage space. Although the bathroom had no separate shower it had a deep bath with a hand showerhead to use if we wished. It was all that we required.
A good sized TV with DVD player and the option of a log fire (logs supplied) completed our comfort. We highly recommend this cottage as well as this area of Northumberland to discover and explore.
