Mrs Moss
October 2017
The cottage itself was in the perfect location for what we wanted in terms of rural setting and ease of exploring te area.. The problem with this cottage was the inaccurate representation of the standard of the cottage, and the huge failure in not mentioning that this was a smoking cottage - I, along with my young son (age 2) have severe asthma and both had issues throughout the holiday with the unground smell (especially in the lounge) of stale smoke. On the Thursday night (2nd Nov) my asthma was so bad we decided to pack up and head home.
On top of this the cleanliness of the lodge left a lot to be desired, along with the rubdown quality of all the furnishings - the curtains in the main lounge area were disgraceful.
To add insult to injury, we looked at our friends lodge who paid exactly the same price as us, to see there's was a much higher calibre, well maintained and very clean.
Overall a very disappointing experience with the only redeeming feature being the locality.
