Area
Allendale is ideally placed for accessing Carlisle to the west, Hexham to the east or the Roman Wall just to the north. There are lots of walks and unspoilt villages in the area, which makes a great location for exploring the surrounding countryside or travelling further north to the glorious Heritage Coastline. Home to the New Year tradition of Tar Bar'ls - well worth seeing, as well as the Allen Valleys Folk Festival.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Lovely house! ! Everything you need is available and if you miss something the owners are more than willing to help you! Allendale is a nice town! Everything is nearby! You can walk to the supermarket. For us it was the perfect basecamp to wall the Hadrian’s path!

Best ever Shower and hot water facilities.. Great big flatscreen TV, Good broadband signal strength, excellent kitchen facilities and great position in the centre of Allendale.

Had a fantastic stay at the townhouse this weekend.. Owners are on hand and really helpful, the house is beautiful and very comfortable. There are shops and hotels right outside the door though the place feels really tranquil. Would also recommend the beauty shop in the square. My friend and I had the most amazing treatments there and she opened specially for us. Plenty of lovely walks in the area and would recommend a trip to wander around the pretty Hexham. Would definitely recommend this
