The Bothy is a charming ground floor detached cottage situated near the village of Malham, North Yorkshire. Hosting one king-size double bed, as part of the open-plan living studio set-up, this property can sleep up to two people. There is also an en-suite shower room. To the outside is off-road parking, and a private patio area with furniture, and a shared garden. A haven for walkers and cyclists with seemingly endless trails right on your doorstep, The Bothy is a beautiful cottage in a relaxing part of England.

All ground floor. Open-plan living area with king-size double bed, kitchen area, dining area and sitting area. En-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Area
Arncliffe was the original setting for Emmerdale, with the Falcon Inn pub acting as the Woolpack in the show. The River Skirfare runs through the village and is rife for fishing. The village of Malham has pubs and tearooms and a National Park Centre. It is a magnet for visitors to the Dales who come to see one of Britain's most impressive natural features - Malham Cove, a natural cavern or 'amphitheatre' of limestone rock. A steep walk up man-made steps is rewarded with a superb view across moors and limestone pavements to Malham Tarn.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Electric central heating. Electric Two ring hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, slow cooker, but no oven,TV with Freeview, radio, WiFi, selection of books and games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Ample parking available in the village. Private patio area with furniture. Shared garden. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 7 miles and pub 2 mins walk. Note: Friday changeover. Note: Check in is from 4pm.

I realised 'The Bothy' was small but it was all a single person needed.. The place was very comfortable and cosy, the bed gorgeous and the owners, who lived on site, were very helpful and friendly. The large shower cubicle was also very welcome. The one omission was the lack of any freezer storage at all. It is usual to have a bit in the fridge but this was lacking. Hence I have marked down 'facilities'. Also a small measuring jug would have been very useful - I resorted to using the coffee percolator! I thought having a dishwasher in such a small kitchen was a waste of very limited space. Needless to say it wasn't used. I would certainly recommend this property and would consider using it again if visiting the Yorkshire Dales again.

Small but perfectly formed! Everything you need in a compact but comfortable cottage. Quiet village with country walks right on the doorstep. Ideal for cycling with routes easy or strenuous. Certainly worth another stay.

The Bothy is set in an idyllic location .. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking, Facilities in The Bothy were first class, both and Mjchael and Carol were very friendly and helpful Villagers jn The Falcon were typically friendly Northern folk and good company at the bar!

The Bothy is a beautifully decorated cottage in a perfect location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.. The cottage is well equipped and the owners were very welcoming. We would not hesitate in staying there again if we ever returned to Yorkshire.

Very clean and comfortable.. Very warm and able to control heating as it was freezing outside. Small but well laid out. Lovely garden area which I’m sure will be beautiful later in the year. Friendly pub in walking distance across the green. Good base for walks and exploring the area.

Perfect location for getting out and about, but also had everything you require if you decide to stay in.. The cottage was clean and modern, yet it had a countryside feel. The location meant it was quiet (no noisy neighbours) which is my usual bugbear, but not in this case. I will definitely return one day and recommend not only The Bothy, but Sykes Cottages because this is my second cottage from Sykes and they have both been excellent.

An absolutely stunning location with fantastic walks from the doorstep.. The road from Malham must count as one of the most scenic drives in the world! The Bothy was equipped to a very high standard and was spotlessly clean. We will be back! Simon & Anna

Excellent stay in a beautiful place with lovely surroundings , the owner did everything possible to ensure a perfect holiday , we stayed for ten days but could have stayed forever.. Cannot say enough how delightful this cottage is.
