No. 3 Low Hall Cottages is a terraced cottage in the village of Scalby, a few miles from Scarborough. There are two double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath/shower room. The living area is open plan, with a fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area. There is a communal deck with BBQ outside, and off road parking for 1 car. Set with two other cottages, No. 3 Low Hall Cottages makes a comfy holiday base. Please note this property can only accept one guest booking per week. Please Note: There is a picturesque church near to the property with a working clock.

Accomodation Details
All ground floor. Two bedrooms with doors to courtyard: 1 x double with en-suite bath, hand-held shower attachment, basin and WC, 1 x small double with en-suite wet room with shower, basin and WC. Open-plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Area
The picturesque village of Scalby lies just 2.5 miles from the seaside resort of Scarborough. The village centre, with its stone cottages and Victorian houses, boasts good facilities, with a pub, two local shops, a quaint tea room and a hairdressers. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, it makes the perfect place to stay, with numerous public footpaths and the well-known Scalby Beck, which winds its way to the coast. A weekly farmers market is held in the school grounds selling local produce. With Scarborough on the doorstep, with its fine, sandy beaches, good restaurants and bustling town centre, Scalby provides a lovely retreat after a busy day out!

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Gas central heating. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, shared tumble dryer in shed, Wi-Fi, TV, DVD. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 1 car. Communal decked garden area with BBQ. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop, inn and tea shop within 5 mins walk. Note: £10.00 supplement for second dog. Please note this property can only accept one guest booking per week. Please Note: There is a picturesque church near to the property with a working clock.

This was a fabulous holiday cottage which was well equipped and clean.. However, just a few things let it down. There was no mirror in the bedroom which had been adapted to be more accessible. The mirror in the accessible bathroom was set high on the wall above a toilet and cistern which made it difficult to look in and if you were in a wheelchair you wouldn’t be able to use it. I found the settee quite uncomfortable, despite using two pillows behind my back to give me support, as the back of the settee slopes a long way back. The parking for the three holiday holiday cottages could do to being longer for the size of today’s cars. Cutting two feet into the banking at the back of the parking area would greatly increase access. Parking was made more difficult because the entrance to the holiday cottage parking area was slightly blocked by a car belonging to the cottage at the entrance. Finally, one very minor point, the main door in the lounge area could not be fixed back in an open position to allow fresh air in - it kept blowing back and forth. Perhaps a hook could be fixed to the wall. I don’t understand one reviewer’s comment about the fridge - it was fine!

Really comfortable accommodation with everything you need.. It was a little difficult to find to start with but found the location to be perfect with local amenities just a small walk or drive away. The house was spotless on arrival.

No 3 Low Hall Cottage is at the back of the other two and may confuse some .... No 3 Low Hall Cottage is at the back of the other two and may confuse some people who arrive and see only two white washed cottages also when coming up or down church hill lane there is a sharp bend at the top of the lane and the road narrows an it's a blind bend beware of vehicles coming in the opposite direction and the bridge that crosses the back is narrow and room only for one car at a time

My daughter is a wheelchair user and found the rail by the toilet too low, also the shower stool was lower than usual.. In saying that she managed and we can't wait to come back.

It would be nice to be able to open the windows especially in the wet room but all the windows in the property appear to have been painted shut.. This meant that the wet room was always damp It would also be nice to have an instruction book on how to use the cooker and general notes about things like when to put the dustbins out and what goes in each dustbin. If it is possible to have internet access installed it would certainly benefit the property. However we did enjoy our stay there and would consider it again if we go up that way again

The area for sitting needed attention.. It was not suitable for sitting out.the supposely garden at the side of the property needed a good person to bring it into a lovely patch of garden.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable but didn't seem to have windows which opened! Although every room had French doors it was not possible to leave them open as we have a dog.

Everything about the cottage was perfect.. The simple,but welcome supplies were there including washing up liquid,a good amount of loo rolls and general little things like salt for cooking,vinegar,dishcloth,tea towel,and lots of fluffy towels. There was even a fresh 2 pint milk carton in the fridge.The shower was great,with plant of hot water,as was the bath in the second bathroom. If we were chilly,the central heating worked well,making the cottage warm and cozy. The only little tiny fault from my point of view was the loo roll holders. As l have a problem twisting my back,they would have been better if positioned further forward ..... about a foot....on the walls. That's only my opinion,but as there is a brilliant adaption for wheelchair using client,l feel it would help.

In a peaceful location but still near to shops/pub. A handy village green nearby for dog walking. Easy access as ground floor cottage, with car parking outside door. We enjoyed the holiday and so did Patch, our dog. We hope to return some day.

We booked this cottage because it was advertised as being suitable fof three adults and also had a wet room as well as a separate bathroom .Perfect ,we thought for my 90 yr old mMother and ourselves.The cottage is tiny & little thought has gone into fixtures & fittings .There is no hanging space of any kind in the smaller of the bedrooms & only a small wardobe in the other.No shaving point in either bedroom & not even a mirror in the bathroom. Does the owner shave by memory ?? The curtains in the whole property were obviously bought at the local boot sale/charity shop!! Not even matching in one bedroom . We had occassion to ask the owner to visit because the radiator in the wet room was not working,resulting in a very cold room.He arrived-obviuosly unhappy at being called,barged in through the door & walked past us into the bathroom.After fiddling with acouple of controls he announced that he was too busy to do anything about but promised to come back .This was on the Monday of our weeks holiday He was never to be seen or heard of again. On the plus side the beds were good & the property was clean.The village in which it's situated is lovely, as is the surrouning area. Would I visit again --not on your lfe!

Hello sorry we are a bit late in filling a report in but you sent us one to fill in just after we returned from our holiday.yes we enjoyed our holiday lots of nice walks and would like to return but as i stated last time the place is designed for the disabled in mind and there was no back to the setee so we ended up with terrible backache if they change that we will go back again

Scalby is a large village with charming parts, especially from the nearby church to the cottage.. Easy for access to the North Yorkshire Moors, Scarborough, Whitby, and Pickering. The cottage was well sited and maintained in a good clean condition. Good value for money.
