Maris Cottage is an end-terraced cottage in The Bay, near Filey. The cottage has a ground floor double, a king-size double which can be a twin on request, with an en-suite, a twin which can be a king-size double on request, and a further twin. There is a family bathroom, an additional cloakroom and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is off road parking for one car plus guest parking, along with a patio and communal grounds plus on-site facilities including a heated swimming pool, gym, sauna, tennis courts and more. Maris Cottage makes a great year-round family base.

Four bedrooms with TV: 1 x king-size double (zip/link, can be twin on request) with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x ground floor double, 1 x twin, 1 x 2'6" twin (zip/link, can be king-size double on request). Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Open-plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Area
The Bay near Filey is an attractive modern development with an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and gym. Other facilities include tennis courts, fishing and a putting green. A coffee shop and pub serving food offer refreshment, and for family fun, the sandy beach is on the doorstep. The Bay makes a great holiday base.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

We have been coming to the bay for 4 years and have stopped in numerous houses .. The Maris cottage is the best equipped house we have been in to date .There was a problem with car parking but there were resolved .We spoke to the owner who was very helpful and we are coming back for the new year .Would highly recommend this property we had a fantastic holiday and can't wait to come back.

A generally enjoyable little cottage with a few peevs that disappointed an almost perfect experience, Had to wash all pots / pans / cups / kitchen utensils etc by hand as the dish washer was leaving dirty glasses.. The sofas are kinda filthy and almost knackered, Otherwise everything else was really nice.

The house was poorly kept, not properly clean and smelled musty.. Spent our first day cleaning. Despite cleaning the smell in the place was hard to shift. The furniture was tired and pouffe in the lounge torn and shabby. The carpets were stained and overall the house needed talc as well as a good clean. This is also documented in the visitors book. It really annoyed me that poor cleanliness is clearly an ongoing issue that has not been addressed. Very annoyed that you continue to promote this house despite negative previous feedback. We spent as little time as possible in the house,Very disappointed and feeling mis informed

The Bay is a fantastic resort for families and although the cottage was spacious it needs some TLC.. The furniture and blinds were torn, cupboard doors don't close, bulbs were broken and generally the property needs a deep clean, with thick dust everywhere and mould in the ensuite bathroom.

Loved the bay , bedrooms plenty big enough could do with new single mattresses in one room could feel spring's with being adults, not a lot of room in seating area for 8 people, could do with safe for keys being on wall as found it a little low for some people.. Prob ready for a freshen up paint wise , still had a lovely holiday. Would stay at the bay again .

The front door handle comes off in your hand when you open front door.. And en suit shower tray drain needs unblocking.needs a new frying pan as no protective cover on handle so burns your fingers when you pick it up to serve your bacon.

It's a nice cottage but needs freshening up.. The sofa cushions are very shabby and the radiator valves downstairs don't work--we couldn't turn them off. The blinds downstairs had no chords so were difficult to raise.There is nowhere to put shower gel in the ensuite and no bathmat there. Only one toilet brush for three lavatories and no spare loo rolls. The ones that were there were half used.There were only two teaspoons. Minor details which are easily fixed. That said, it was well equipped and attractive and we enjoyed our time there

Superb location and the only thing that spolit our weekend was the birthday meal in the pub.. Accomodation was very spacious but is due some decorating and maintenance in the near future. Overall a top weekend in a great location.

I think the bay is a perfect location for visiting Scarborough,Whitby and Bridlington.. The walk along the beach to Filey is a lovely day out.

For the quality of the house the shower could have been better.. The floors were not clean on arrival i.e. kids running about in bare feet, their feet were black. The barbecue had clearly not been used or cleaned for some time. There were no black bags for disposal of rubbish and although we phoned, they never appeared. We would still recommend the site and accommodation

Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would definitely consider returning but there was slight issue with the bath overflow and leak to boiler which really do need rectifying The welcome pack was a really nice surprise and overall this holiday has been Fantastic

Increased parking facilities are a real requirement at The Bay as a venue, this was more impacted towards the front of the complex.. Some guests parked ACROSS the two spaces at their cottage to stop others using the second space.

Have just returned from this lovely cottage break and will definitely go back. There is everything you need. Very specious for 6 adults and 3 children . The beds are very comfy . A tv in every room. Everything you want in a kitchen. Could not believe how good it was. Lovely swimming pool on site. Restaurant and a pub serving food . The only thing that it needed is a good play ground for the little ones

We had a wonderful time, the area is amazing cottage was very cosy yet still modern.. There was plenty of room and everything that we needed was there. I would definatly go back. We used the swimming facilities which was excellent and used the bikes to go around to the beach and which was great fun.Really recommend this we wished we had booked for longer ! Stayed at Maris Cottage at The Bay just outside Filey,the area was great ,walking distance from the beach,the facilities available were okay,but could have a better park for the younger kids, the pub was okay,but the beers were flat and glasses not clean,the Cottage was very comfortable,the beds were good, thank you for a great comfortable stay will return in the future.

Yes the Holiday was Brill we had our children ages 32 and 34 plus Black Labrador,My Wife And I plus My wife's Mum age 82,she was the one who was most impressed.. The only prob was that I as a rather large man sat on one of the Garden Chairs which Collapsed and I cut my finger and was a little bit stuned,but never the Less this was dealt with by Sue who contacted the owner and 3 Guys turned up to take said chair away. I am not one of those people who would blame anyone,but it was dealt with in an Sympathetic manor no prob! Love the bay at Filey and I would Book Again!

Maris Cottage was a great place to stay with the family. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Having a pub and leisure centre on site was brilliant as the weather meant we couldn;t really venture far! We ate in the Italian restaurant on site one night, the food was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive. Maris cottage has everything you need. Stayed with family, 8 adults ,a one year old and a dog .The site is beautiful and well kept . Enjoyed our daily walk down to the beach and trips into nearby seaside towns. The pub on site serves excellent food and good value for money , need to book as always busy . Nothing bad to say about this property or complex .

We all thought the cottage was fabulous, it was decorated and furnished to a high standard. It was warm, cosy and bedding towels were all lovely. We loved being so near to the beach and walked there each day. We loved the swimming pool and gym facilities and again made use of them each day. We thought the pool, sauna and steam room were fabulous facilities and my two sons enjoyed the gym, which was particularly well equipped. Filey was lovely, just a nice drive away and we thought everyone was very friendly and welcoming. As a family, we have never been away from home and were delighted with The Bay. We would definitely go back.

It was all excellent. There was a very helpful key holder and lots of interesting places to visit. The beaches were clean and the site was brilliant.

Week spent here in May with our family. More than enough room for all of us (5 adults and 4 children aged 1,2,3 and 7) Cottage was spotless clean and the location meant we could easily access all the activities that Yorkshire has to offer. Would definately recommend this cottage and the location.

An excellent location, able to get to many places.. The house was very well equipped, the pool and gym were very good. Pizzas in the Italian cafe were delicious.

Beautiful four bedroom cottage large enough to accommodate 3 adults and 3 grandchildren very comfortably. We had originally booked it for five adults and 4 grandchildren and had circumstances not changed, it would still have been large enough to accommodate us all. Great location and fabulous weather was an added bonus. The towels provided were all large bath sheets which were great for the family baths and showers. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in maris cottage. Accommodation was great , very clean and comfortable nothing to fault. Twenty minute walk to lovely beach and then half hour walk along beach into old Filey. Swimming pool and steam room on site excellent , also tennis courts, cafe, pub and chemist. All staff very friendly and helpful. Liked everything about the holiday.
