Area The historic fishing village of Runswick Bay lies on North Yorkshire's coast, nine miles from the popular resort of Whitby. It offers a beautiful sheltered sandy beach, backed by spectacular cliffs and moorland scenery. Enjoy coastal walks on the sandy beach or along the Cleveland Way on the clifftop above, pay a visit to Whitby's famous Abbey and Staithes' pretty shops, cafés and superb art gallery, and you cannot miss an opportunity to explore the dramatic scenery of the North York Moors National Park.
