The Farmhouse is a superb detached cottage set in the hamlet of Boggle Hole, three miles from Robin Hood's Bay. Over three floors, this cottage sleeps a maximum of 8 people and 1 infant and has six bedrooms, consisting of a super king-size double with dressing room and en-suite shower, a king-size double, a double, a single and a second floor king-size double leading to a twin. Please note: This property has feather pillows and bedding. There's also a bathroom, a kitchen with dining area, a utility, a boot room, a sitting room with an electric stove and a hall with dining area. 1 x Smart TV in lounge, 1 x Smart TV in master bedroom and 1 x TV with Freeview in the attic bedroom. Outside there's off road parking for four cars and an extensive lawned garden with patio, furniture, barbecue and wooden climbing apparatus. The Farmhouse is a wonderful property for visiting this beautiful area. Maximum 8 people plus one infant. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Off road parking for 4 cars. Two electric vehicle charging points are available in the main yards at South House Farm for customer use but please note there would be a supplementary cost for this. Over three floors. Six bedrooms. First floor: 1 x super king-size bed with TV, dressing room and en-suite shower, basin and WC. 1 x king-size double, 1 x double bed, 1 x single bed. Please note: This property sleeps a maximum of 8 people, plus 1 infant and all bedrooms have feather pillows and bedding. House bathroom including bath, separate shower, double basin and WC. Second floor: 1 x king-size bed with TV, dressing room and en-suite shower, basin and WC leading to 1 x twin room. Access for the twin room is through the king-size room. Ground floor basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area (seats 6). Utility. Boot room. Sitting room with electric stove. Hall with dining area (seats 8).

Area
The pretty village of Robin Hood's Bay has narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages, as well as lovely tea rooms. Beaches and cliff-top walks can be found within this part of the Moors, and both Scarborough and Whitby have many attractions and something for everyone. A delightful place to stay.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Really enjoyed our stay until I received a reply to my review on Sykes website. My review was hugely positive until I mentioned 2 things that we found a little frustrating - oven not working properly, no slotted spoons in kitchen - and the owner replied in a way that suggested we were being unreasonable and, annoyingly, stupid! They suggested we used a colander instead of a slotted spoon, which is ridiculous and we “had difficulty understanding” how the oven worked - we didn’t, it’s broken (and has been since June 2018 according to a previous review!). We were basically admonished because the owner had to clean the oven when we left! Don’t they usually? We were absolutely going to re-book this cottage in the future but we certainly won’t be now and will not recommend it to anyone else!

2nd time at the farmhouse with all the family and despite covid and the weather still created some lovely memories.. Special mention to the beds really comfortable, the views are amazing and the garden is the best of all , if you are lucky enough for a hot day and warm evening then I can think of no better place to have a family bbq

The pictures of the house on the website didn't really do it justice, it was even better! It was a brilliant house for a family holiday, everyone loved it from the grandparents down to the grandchildren. The garden was amazing. Bring back the chickens and it would be perfect. Made use of the tennis court too, a nice extra feature.

We booked this holiday for a family get together for our Golden Wedding Anniversary having searched for a property that would appeal to three generations and we were not disappointed.. The house was very well furnished and extremely comfortable. The lovely garden was a real plus for the children to run around and play in while we relaxed ourselves outside and enjoyed the lovely weather, taking advantage also of the gas barbecue for a great family afternoon dining in the garden. We chose to eat in for some of our stay making use of the fully equipped kitchen and the family dining room which seated our party of eleven easily. The whole area is outstandingly beautiful, from the farmhouse you can walk down to the beach at Boggle Hole. Robin Hood Bay is a short car ride away and well worth a visit. We would certainly love to revisit the property in the future with family or with friends as it had everything you could possibly want for a comfortable and relaxing holiday providing a brilliant base for visiting the beautiful surrounding areas.

A fabulous old farm house full of character but bang up to date with good extremely well appointed kitchen c/w induction hob and utensils for every occasion.. We stayed here with 6 adults and 4 children and the 6 lovely bedrooms suited our needs. The winding drive down from the main road is worth it and to have the sea only 5 minutes walk away is another feature. There are fine views out of every window and the garden was ideal for us. We would recommend this Farmhouse to everybody.

No complaints whatsoever.. The farmhouse was exactly as described, and was an ideal central location for all the places we wanted to visit on our annual family holiday. If we ever want to return to the area we will certainly bear this property, and Sykes Cottages in mind. The key pick-up info, and other points of interest, and suggested places to eat etc, supplied by the owner were excellent.

I couldn't fault the help I got from Sykes when I was booking (finding somewhere that would take 4 generations including 1 year old twins).. The property was wonderful, very comfortable with lots of space, great gardens and in a fantastic position. The best cooking facilities we've experienced. We were all sad to leave.

Fantastic house with loads of space, we had 8 adults and 2 toddlers and the house had everything we needed.. lots of kitchen bits, books, games and toys. kids also loved making use of the outdoor space. all rooms were spacious and comfy and 4 bathrooms meant no one was queuing. would definitely recommend!

The Farmhouse exceeded our expectations, everyone loved their bedrooms, the living room , kitchen and dining room were all spacious and comfortable so we could all get together to eat , chat or play games etc.. The gardens really have the wow factor, everywhere you look there is a view to die for , the grandkids loved the swings and slide , there’s a lovely table and chairs to accommodate everyone to sit outside on a nice day and we took advantage of the gas bbq which was a real bonus. The house is in a great position to visit so many places of interest or if you want total relaxation then I could think of nothing better than just staying in with a good book. One tip I will say is if there is a clear night then have a look at the stars with minimal light deprivation it really is a sight to behold ! Finally I booked this holiday for the full family to get together we all created some really good memories and they have all expressed a wish to do it again, I will have no hesitation in recommending the Farmhouse as a wonderful place to stay.

The Farmhouse met all our needs.. The garden space was fabulous, as was the view. Inside the layout was so good that our 3 year old grandson didn't want to leave. The kitchen had plenty of glassware,crockery etc. - even toddler plates and cutlery. The only slight annoyance was the oven, where two of the knobs were loose, making it difficult to be certain of the temperature. (There was a note saying that the parts had been ordered.) That detail aside, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return.

Our stay at the farmhouse was lovely.. The house far exceeded expectation-the photos really don't do it enough justice. It was way bigger than we imagined and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were accommodating and friendly (and even brought us more dishwasher tabs when we ran out!!) It's in a fabulous location and our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. We would definitely recommend staying here and are considering rebooking ourselves.
