We have just returned from a week at this beautiful cottage and had a fantastic time.
The cottage is very comfortable, very clean with beautiful decor and soft furnishings.
The beds were very comfortable and all of the rooms were spacious. We all slept so well during our stay.
Sarah provided us with a very welcome 'welcome' pack including a cake, butter, milk, eggs and smoked salmon. Perfect!
The cottage had everything you could want, very well equipped kitchen, cosy blankets, and 2 wifi hubs to ensure we had wifi in every part of the cottage, due to the thick walls.
The wifi was fast. We took our Nintendo wiiU as we weren't sure what the weather was going to be like and we managed to set our kids up (8 and 5 years old) with our Netflix account which they watched through the wiiU. The TVs had freeview so Netflix wasn't important but was a back up in case of bad weather!
We were very lucky with the weather and this cottage is extremely well placed for exploring Richmond by foot. We only used the car twice.
The river water falls are approximately 3 minutes walk away, the market place is approx 5 mins walk (up a steep hill), the castle is 5 mins walk and there is a fabulous pub called the holly hill inn which is less than 10 mins away. This serves the best Sunday roast we have had in a long time and we went back on our final night and enjoyed the food just as much. This pub is over the river bridge and up a steep hill headed out of Richmond.
Our kids loved the river, they took nets and got into the water each time we visited (which was a lot, but luckily close enough to the cottage to walk back with wet clothes!)
Don't let the parking issue put you off. Throughout the whole week we were there we saw plenty of parking space available around the green. Even though we didn't use the car much, it was nice to be reassured that we didn't need to worry about the parking.
Sarah gave us a parking disc for the north yourkshire area which was also handy.
We visited the forbidden corner and Thorpe Perrow whilst we were there and can highly recommend both, all within 30 mins drive.
All in all a fantastic cottage (loved the separate snug area / 2nd reception room) in the best location within Richmond. We will definitely return!
