Deer Cottage is a semi-detached bungalow in Thompson in East Anglia. It has one double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, it can sleep two people. The cottage also comes with a kitchen and sitting room with dining area and a woodburning stove. Outside is off road parking for two cars, lockable bike storage, as well as a garden to the rear and side with lawn, gravel and patio areas with furniture and a hot tub. Deer Cottage is a charming cottage in a great location for couples looking to explore the delights of Norfolk.

Area
A small village is set among woodland in Norfolk, Thompson boasts a range of buildings from the modern houses to thatched buildings, including the 300-year-old pub and restaurant. The village is filled with old buildings including churches dating as far back as the 14th century. The village also hosts the annual Thompson Live music event which raises money towards East Anglia's Children's Hospices. Nearby is Dereham, offering a range of shops and so on, as well as other activities. Norwich is also within easy reach.

Region
Picturesque rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways – East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers beaches, saltmarshes and quaint villages whilst equally as charming are the coast and countryside of Suffolk.

A absolutely lovely cottage with hot tub.. Tina & Greg could not of added an further homely little finishing touches they have thought of everything & more a really well equipped cottage. Spent a long time looking for a cottage or lodge in the Suffolk/Norfolk regions and I am so happy we went for Deer Cottage.. It was perfect the welcome package and added extras really made it feel homely and the hot tub was lovely! A great relaxing weekend thank you very much!

Deer Cottage was used as a surprise for my boyfriends 28th birthday and it was absolutely perfect! I could not have asked for anything better. Tina and Greg went above and beyond anything I could have asked for. From decorating the cottage to leaving a bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and some birthday cake ice cream for us for the weekend! Tina met us upon arrival and showed us around and then left us to it for the weekend. Even though you are attached to their house you would not even realise unless you were told. We had so much privacy and were left with provisions such as fresh milk, tea bags, butter, fresh bread and fresh orange juice. The homely touches are wonderful and the log burner and hot tub were amazing. We had such a lovely relaxed weekend and with being close to Norwich town centre we even enjoyed a day of christmas shopping. Thank you so much to Tina and Greg for providing us with a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be back. We have already recommended the cottage to family members that are hoping to visit in the New year. Thank you again from Jamie and Corey :)

Deer cottage was the most relaxing weekend we've had for a long time.. The owner was there to meet us, all the little extras in our welcome pack made it more special. The dressing gowns and slippers were available for the hot tub, it was everything I was looking for a relaxing cosy peaceful weekend, perfect.

Very warm welcome from Tina and Greg who went out of their way to make us feel at home.. Eggs, milk, bacon, orange juice and home-baked bread and cake awaited us so the shopping could be done the day after our arrival. It was a real pleasure to come back to the cottage after a day of sightseeing in a very beautiful area of Britain. We didn't expect to find so many of the attentions that make life pleasant and comfortable (linen napkins, tissues in the bathroom, picnic basket....) and we would like to thank Tina and Greg for such a pleasant stay in Norfolk.

Arrived at Deer Cottage and greeted by Tina.. Tina had lovingly made us a home made loaf, provided fresh milk and bacon in the fridge and half a dozen eggs. Tina had also decorated the cottage with bunting and arranged prosecco and birthday cake for my husband. Nothing was too much trouble, the cottage was fully equipped and very cosy with the log burner and central heating. The cottage was impeccably clean and had a very comfortable bed. The hot tub was very clean and warm with nice warm dressing gowns and slippers to put on after. The only draw back was poor wifi for keeping in touch with the kids but reception was much better in the kitchen. We cannot wait to return and would recommend to any couple wanting a tranquil peaceful escape

Although the cottage was near a country lane it was fairly quiet.. Back garden was secluded, which was nice as that was where the hot tub and patio were. The kitchen equipment was above and beyond what we expected with lots of little personal touches for visitors.

We had a wonderful week at Deer Cottage.. It is a beautiful cottage and it is so peaceful, that all you hear all the birds singing. It is beautifully decorated, furnished and stocked with lots of little extras which make the week more special. The hot tub is a perfect addition to the garden. The owners are very kind and helpful. The nearby pub was a great find and the local people are very friendly. There are a lot of places to visit within an hours drive. All in all, it was a relaxing and very enjoyable week.

Deer cottage has not got electric central heating, its oil fired central heating, which is controlled by the owners next door, so if they dont swich heating on you will have to light the wood burner to get any heat in deer cottage.. When the wood runs out it will cost you £5 to replace. The heating was swiched on the first night, and that was it until our last night there when the heating came on again!!

The surrounding view, tranquility of the cottage and the facilities (log burner and hot tub) were excellent.. The hospitality and communication of the owner were also excellent and appreciated. From our arrival to departure the break was peaceful and hassle free. The local restaurant/bar Chequers served excellent food with matching service. We hope to return to the cottage very soon.

Arrived at Deer cottage in the middle of a snow blizzard and very tired after a long drive.. Tina and Gregg made us feel comfortable straight away. A fresh cooked loaf of bread on the kitchen side, milk, sausages and chocolates too were just a few of the little things that made our stay so lovely. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely little cottage. Log fire and jacuzzi were both brilliant. Would love to go back sometime. Thanks Tina and Gregg for a very peaceful and quiet escape. We stayed at Deer Cottage this past weekend and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Tina and Greg were so accommodating and welcoming, they literally thought of everything; coffee, tea, sugar, milk, fresh bread and butter were all waiting for us on arrival which was wonderful. The cottage is so comfortable and cosy, the hot tub was fantastic, it was a perfect romantic getaway and we will definitely be returning.

Deer cottage is a beautiful cottage.. The owners Tina and Greg have really turned it into a home away from home. With big extras like a hottub in the garden, to small extras like mints on your bedside table. I highly recommend deer cottage.

We had a really enjoyable stay- the only 1 small thing I would say is that we were told there would be Wi-Fi.. With our cottage being pretty much in the middle of nowhere, we had very bad signal on our mobile phones so were relying on the Wi-Fi but the connection was awful. We barely got 1 bar of signal from the Wi-Fi. Whilst it was actually quite nice to be cut off from the world and enjoy our break to the fullest- I do feel that if Wi-Fi is advertised, there should at least be a decent connection. There was no area of the cottage that provided us with even just a reasonable connection. Other than this, we had a really lovely time. The wood fire and the hot tub were excellent additions and even had some added extra's to get us going (like milk and bread and eggs). This was a really thoughtful and appreciated gesture.. Greg was very welcoming and the flat was very well equipped. We would like to thank both Tina and Greg for such an enjoyable stay

The cottage was well appointed and very comfortable.. A lovely welcome awaited us and we soon felt 'at home'.

I asked for a trouble free, warm, comfortable retreat for a few days and that is exactly what I got.. Speaking to the owner, she loves where she lives and obviously wishes share the area with other people.
