Quaint though Holt is, parking in the centre of town is a bit tricky and unfortunately most of the roads have double yellow lines, including those around the cottage. To unload the car when you arrive, you can usually pull in on the road opposite the cottage but try to stay just a few minutes and park well over to the left so you aren’t blocking the road (access is needed to Royal Mail premises and a residential road behind it). The best thing then is to park in one of the council car parks nearby. The Albert Street (which we use) and Station Road ones and charge around £7 for 24 hours or if you’re here for 4 days or longer, the £28 ticket for 7 days is good value, both available from the machine there and they take cards. These tickets can also be used at a lot of other council car parks including Sheringham and Cromer but do check the signs there to make sure (or see the NNDC website for details) Mobile phone signal: Variable Housekeeping: A refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver is payable on booking Notes: Please note that the stairs in the cottage are narrow and relatively steep, which may not be suitable for the less agile or younger children.
