We stayed as a group of 12 friends for a long weekend in September. We arrived and had a look around, we had no electricity on the first or second floors.
We checked the fuse box and it had tripped so we turned it back on. We went out to the hot tub and there was a rotten piece of wood covering what appeared to be a drain hole by the back door. The hot tub was freezing and there was no way to alter this. There was also rubbish around the garden. Back door was hard to lock, also no spare front door keys as advertised so only one between 12.
The back living room had damp in the walls and smelled very musty. The middle bedroom on the first floor was also damp. The shared bathroom on the second floor leaked into that bedroom too.
Water pressure across the board is poor - likely an area thing I suppose rather than specific to this property.
We did contact the owner to let them know, but could not get through. We contacted the booking company who said they’d pass the message on.
Positives were the dining room area, great for socialising and playing games (though some of the chairs are a bit wobbly!). WiFi is decent, Parking wasn’t an issue either. The location was great.
It was clean and tidy, plenty of towels and crockery etc. big fridge freezer and decent oven. Cupboard full of games, we didn’t use as we’d bought our own, but a nice touch.
If the damp was sorted we’d definitely recommend to friends and come back. The hot tub was a shame, but not a deal breaker. The rubbish, though disappointing was likely thrown over the back fence, so I’m not sure what can be done if that happens after the cleaners attend.
