Starboard is a lovely ground floor, open plan studio apartment, which lies on the beach, just ten minutes from the town of Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Now one of seven apartments, in a converted boathouse, Starboard has been furnished to a good standard and has a welcoming living and sleeping area. Sleeping two, this cottage apartment has a light and airy living, dining and kitchen area, with a double bed, along with a shower room. Starboard also has a private slipway for launching your own boat, and the convenience of a licensed cafe next door. Yarmouth has a lovely harbour area, shops and inns, plus the coastal path is perfect for walkers and cyclists. Starboard is an ideal base for exploring Yarmouth.

Area
The wonderful seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and is home to a busy harbour, narrow streets, an array of shops and inns, and Henry VIII's castle. The coastal path is a haven for walkers and cyclists, plus walks can also be enjoyed across to the nearby Tennyson Down. The beaches of Colwell and Totland Bays provide great watersports facilities, which makes Yarmouth an ideal base.

Region
The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker's paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

Electric convector heaters. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, TV with Freeview and WIFI. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Off road parking for 1 car. Use of private slipway. One well-behaved dog welcome at £10 per week. Sorry, no smoking. Licensed cafe next door. Shop and pub 10 mins walk. Note: Property has direct access to the beach; children and pets should be supervised. Note: Swimming is discouraged outside the apartment due to the strong tide and currents.

Very good property, we had holidays here before so knew what to expect.. Location is perfect for fishing and general relaxing. Good area to explore and Yarmouth seems to have most of what is needed. Will be better when fully open, a lot of business's hadn't opened because of Covid, which meant The Bugle pub and restaurant was very busy, Wednesday night at 8pm as I was leaving new diners were being quoted 90 minutes wait time. The island in general seems slow to reopen for business.

As this was a winter let we were surprised that the accommodation was cold on our arrival.. However, an additional heater was quickly found. The bathroom was unheated, and we suggest that a heated towel rail would have made all the difference. The mattress was very uncomfortable, that and the pillows need replacing. The accommodation looked very tired, two light fittings not working, and cobwebs on light fittings The television was too small for the room, difficult to read text and not enough volume.. On the positive side there was plenty of hot water.

Wonderful location right on the beach.. We loved waking up to the sound and sight of the sea. The studio is clean, light, airy and very cosy. A few minor niggles: there is no heat in the bathroom so you need to leave the living room door open to warm it up. There are no cooking spatulas and the shower is very weak.

In a perfect location, on the beach and next to a really friendly cafe that was open during the day. The apartment was thoughtfully furnished including a full length mirror, a shelf in the bathroom and shaver socket. The floor is laminated and easy to keep clean. It was just right for two people. We loved the rural location and were happy to walk to nearby Yarmouth where we loved the bird life and lovely walks. It was also fascinating to sit in the apartment and watch the ships, yachts and boats go by.

Compact but cosy, this boathouse is perfectly situated for a beachside holiday. Only 10 minutes stroll to the the village along the beach or a longer coastal walk in either direction. The dreamy can spend all day or evening just watching the boats and the changing light and waves right from the armchair, outside area or on the beach in front of the property.

It was fantastic to have accommodation so close to the sea.. It was also very close to Yarmouth, so easy to walk in, catch the bus, pick up supplies, go for a drink without taking the car.

Superb location and very peaceful! Excellent views across the Solent, just open the patio doors and you're on the beach. You really can't get any better! Great walks around the Fort Victoria Country Park and along the coastal path routes. Just a short walk into Yarmouth and a coffee and cake from Grace's Bakery on the harbour side when you get there. An all round superb holiday.....

Amazing, the beach is right outside the patio door, woodland with walks are behind, fabulous old fort with attractions to your left, cafe with garden to your right. This place is heaven. The accomodation is basic but the location makes up for it. Cannot wait to return.

Simple booking process.. Staff very helpful when dealing with our queries. Useful reminder just before holiday date. Accommodation lived up to our expectations.

From booking through Sykes with their helpful, friendly staff to being greeted by the owner of the property it was hassle free. Starboard is well equipped and comfortable and a magical place to stay with the shore on your doorstep. Everything is within easy reach of Yarmouth and you can get the ferry almost to your doorstep. It was our second stay at Starboard and we cant wait to go back. Thanks Sykes and John.

The magic from listening to the waves whilst sitting in bed.. The view was fantastic. Our dog Cassie loved looking through the French windows over the Solent and walks along the sea front. The most romantic of holidays. After a long hard year of working it was everything we could have hoped to charge our batteries for a new year. You can't experience the magic truly unless you visit! Can't wait until we come back again

Loved all of it! Really relaxing holiday in a good location and accommodation. Great view and the dog loved being with us and enjoyed her morning walk along the beach. She looked very down when we returned home!
