The Elephant Cottage is located in the base of the owner’s farm and once owned by a Birmingham Circus Family who relocated to the city to retire with their animals and it was here that a baby elephant was housed in this barn – hence the name! Today, this barn has been beautifully modernised and turned into a spotlessly clean and charming with the old beams and trusses remaining. Elephant Cottage is light and airy inside due to the high beam ceilings, and multiple windows look over the view of the surrounding farmlands. Fishing is possible about two hundred metres away from the property in a small lake stocked with brown trout and carp. One pet welcome but no smoking is allowed on the premises. The garden is fenced with gravelled, paved and lawned areas on top of a seating area to the side of Elephant Cottage. One pet welcome at a charge of £35 per pet per stay

Area
The market town of Bromyard is based between the town of Leominster, and the Cathedral city of Worcester, and close to Hereford and Ledbury. Bromyard has shops, cafes and pubs, as well as an annual folk festival. Ideal for walks, the Bromyard Downs and Bringsty Common are on the doorstep.

Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairy tale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye.

Very welcoming people are Mr and Mrs Lewis cannot do enough for you, cottage is centralized for exploring areas of interest as there is a lot to see, if you like to see a working farm that is the place to be, the cottage is very well equipped everything you need.. The Lewis's are such a great couple and cannot do enough for you.Great Holiday.

The owners of the cottage are very warm, friendly and welcoming.. The cottage is on a working dairy farm which is busy 24 hours a day. We found this interesting and we learnt a lot from our tour of the farm by the owner. The front garden attached to the cottage is safe for our dog to explore and there are surrounding fields for exercise. I look forward to my next visit.

We had a lovely time at Elephant cottage.. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Mr and Mrs Lewis were very welcoming, and gave us some hints and tips about the local area and where to visit. My husband enjoyed the fishing in the pools and even managed to catch something!! Our little dog enjoyed the enclosed garden and the freedom of running in the fields. The weather was not very kind to us, but it did not detract from a really enjoyable stay. The only disappointment was when I booked I misjudged the dates by 1 day, and when I called Skyes to change it I was charged an extra administration fee of £30, despite there being no difference in price which I feel was unfair.

I don't want to give a bad review as the cottage was lovely and the hosts were great, surrounding areas amazing, but I do feel that in the description something should be written explaining that the cottage is on a working dairy farm 24/7..
