The Granary is a wonderful property based in the quaint little village of St. Briavels near the town of Lydney. It comprises two bedrooms; a ground floor twin and a double with a ground floor shower room and a first floor bathroom with bath and shower separate. There is also a conservatory with a sitting area and a first floor kitchen with a dining area. Outside is a lawned garden with a patio and furniture. The Granary is a delightful cottage to base your stay in Gloucestershire.

Area
The town of Lydney is situated between the eastern edge of the Forest of Dean and the River Severn in Gloucestershire. Lydney has a range of shops, a leisure centre and sports facilities, as well as pubs, cafes and restaurants serving a wide variety of meals. The Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts numerous trails that can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this area.

Region
Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area.

Very nice, clean accommodation.. Some nice personal touches from the owners. Great place to explore the area and within easy reach of many castles (which my 4 year old grandson wanted to see) Unfortunately, we didn’t find the double bed very comfortable and would have preferred a dishwasher to a washing machine. Nice pub with good food across the road, very friendly village with a lovely local shop. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Complete and concise info enabled us to choose our short break, when we arrived it exceeded our expectations and was beautiful, functional and home from home with stunning outlooks and what seemed a world away from the hustle of life.. The cottage was warm welcoming and indeed the little homely touch’s were superb. Deifinately recommend for the dwelling, for the location and for the surrounding scenery.

We had a good week at the cottage, and had a warm welcome from the owners with a bottle of apple juice and a lemon cake! We enjoyed the fact that milk,tea, coffee, herbs, salt and pepper etc were provided and the owner kindly gave us a list of all that the cottage would provide for us which was so helpful. It was lovely and quiet, with great view of the countryside. The location was great, and the local shop is well stocked with a friendly shopkeeper! Our only little comment would be the lack of a comfy chair to sit in at the end of the day! There is a sofa in the bedroom, but during the day it is not well situated for natural light and the chairs in the conservatory one would not curl up in for very long to read a book! As we were out most of the time, this was not an issue! You may choose whether you wish to publish this, though we will tick "yes".

The Granary is furnished to a very high standard and equipped very well.. The owners live next door and are very welcoming and supplied 2pints of milk and a cake, plus tea, coffee and sugar and all necessary condiments. After our holiday we received an email asking if we had a safe journey home and thanking us for leaving the property so clean and tidy. This was a very nice touch.

We had a wonderful stay in the Granary.. It is lovely inside with wonderful views. Everything was extremely clean and well equipt. The village is pretty and it's in a very good position for visiting the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. I'd recommend The Granary to family and friends and would love to return sometime.
