Lovely house! Really enjoyed our stay here, and the location was brilliant. Would happily stay here again.
The kitchen is particularly well equipped and a healthy supply of provisions left in the pantry. Welcome hamper was a nice touch. Plenty of supplies for dogs too, with food and water bowl and doggy treats provided! The whole house is filled with thoughtful touches, as well as being stunning.
Minor issues (not necessarily for publication, just for feedback):
-the roasting and baking Oven in the Aga didn’t run to temperature and our rib of beef took a while to cook! Fortunately we brought a meat thermometer, but it got a bit tense with the roast potatoes!! Adjusting the gas flow helped (we returned this to original setting on departure) but I think an oven thermometer would be useful.... the simmering oven also feels too cool but the boiling and simmering plates seemed fine.
-the shower tray in the master en-suite drains slowly and overflows within a couple of minutes of the shower running. No big drama for us, but probably needs attention given the wooden floors.
The housekeeper Amanda was really lovely and helpful on the phone, and dealt not only with the feather bedding in the bedroom as requested but also sofa cushions and alerted us to the feather stuffed sofas for my feather-allergic mother.
Manor cottages merged with Sykes just before our stay so there was some confusion about the booking - I received an email stating 7 adults, 1 infant no pets despite booking for 8 adults. 1 infant, 1 pet. Prior to this, all dealings with the company were perfect, prompt and helpful.
