The Stable @ Rose Cottage is a superb all ground floor barn conversion set in the grounds of the owner's home near Yorkley on the southern edge of the Forest of Dean and can sleep four people in one double bedroom and one adult bunks room. There is a family shower room. The rest of the property contains an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. To the outside there is off road parking for one car and a front lawned garden with furniture and BBQ. The Stable @ Rose Cottage is an excellent base for those looking to explore the delights of the Forest of Dean and surrounding area.

Area
Yorkley is a thriving village on the southern edge of the wonderful Forest of Dean with an excellent pub and village shop offering many lovely walks and cycle routes in all directions. The RSPB Nagshead Reserve is home to many rare woodland birds and offers interesting events for all ages throughout the year. The unspoilt Malvern Hills, Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains, as well as lovely Cotswold towns and villages are just a little further afield.

Region
Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area.

Off road parking for 1 car 40 meters away - Please be aware the access to the property is via a path. Oil central heating. Electric oven and hob, microwave, shared use of washing machine in drying room. fridge, TV with Freeview, DVD, radio, selection of games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Front lawned garden with furniture and BBQ. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1 mile. Note: Mobile phone reception can be limited in the cottage with some providers.

The Stable had everything we needed for a lovely holiday.. The hosts were welcoming, helpful and kind. The location was great for visiting local attractions and walking in the forest. We enjoyed spending time at the Stable and relaxing in the beautiful surroundings.

The stable@rose cottage was a lovely place to stay for a week, the owners Kathy and Russell were very welcoming, and our dog gizmo very much enjoyed the company of Charlie, i loved the cake and fresh flowers when we arrived, and the area that the stable had was great, we had a couple of nights sat around the lovely fire pit, My wife and I both said we would love to visit again, there are many lovely walks and pubs about the area, and my daughter and her friend both enjoyed searching for wild boar, which we was lucky enough to see

A lovely comfortable barn-conversion, fresh and clean with some lovely little touches such as fresh flowers and a delicious home-made cake to welcome us.. The owners were so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Decor and furniture was all new and modern and we had everything we required for self-catering for the week. Children loved Charlie the dog and we had many lovely days out in the surrounding area. Would certainly recommend this cottage!

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location.. Perfect for dogs and a very safe enclosed garden for children. The area is in the outskirts of the forest, only a short drive from the vast array of activities. Hosts Kathy and Russell were brilliant and really helpful advising us about where to visit in the area. We look forward to returning next year.

A lovely place to stay, exactly as described.. Lovely welcoming touches such as milk in the fridge, tea & coffee, a lovely homemade cake and flowers. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. There was a super garden space that was secure for our dog with a field we could also use (once again secure). I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

The owners we're so friendly and welcoming.. Everything you need is there. The views are stunning and my son loved running around. Everything is enclosed so we knew he was safe. The owners dog Charlie is so cute too. We enjoyed throwing him his ball. We was lucky with the weather too going during a heat wave. I'd love to come back

We found The Stable clean and modern with everything we needed.. It was in a great location for the Forest of Dene, with sheep and boar able to roam beyond the external gates. The owners Kathy and Russell were easy to chat to, and our dog had a great time playing with their Border Collie Charlie in their paddock which was adjacent to The Stable's garden. The spacious enclosed garden was also a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay; would stay again if we were that way and would definitely recommend to others.

We stayed here for a week in October. The owners live next door and were friendly, welcoming and gave lots of useful information on the local area. The cottage was well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable. Our dog was well catered for with a secure garden and paddock to exercise in and loved daily play time with Charlie the Border Collie. Booking again x

Excellent base to explore from, walk right from the cottage into the Forest of Dean.. Lovely light and airy cottage with fantastic view. Really helpful 'hosts', who provided yummy lemon cake for us. Lots of local wildlife too.
