5 of us stayed early October.I consider the description over optimistic.
The parking for 2 cars was very critical. It was also shared with the neighbour. No where to turn which meant reversing out down a very narrow drive. The second bedroom though large had a very small double bed. Why there wasn’t a wider bed in that room surprises me. My wife and I are 60 and 53 kilos and there wasn’t enough room for us. The wood burning stove in the lounge was difficult to deal with despite being a very good make. It smoked a lot and was hard to get going. Either the chimney needs sweeping or it was badly installed. We have two stoves in our house and so I feel well qualified to comment. Finally, in the kitchen there are two massive gloomy pictures behind the dining table making it very difficult to get seated behind without disturbing them. Why have them? One doesn’t go to a self catering cottage to admire the pictures or ornaments!

Filthy property. No cate has been taken for maintenance or cleaning. Keep ringing Sykes Cottages but they can’t get hold of owner to arrange refund. We were supposed to stay 3 nights but left first night as couldn’t cook in the filthy kitchen to eat. Shameful.
