Outside the town, adventurers can visit Melbourne Raceway and plant lovers can visit Ellerker House Gardens. North Cliffe Wood Nature Reserve is a lovely nature reserve with miles of walking trails and a variety of species, and St. Helen's Well is a natural spring that is reputed to have therapeutic effects, both of which are located near the market town of Market Weighton. Visit the nearby city of York, rich in history and culture, and home to a wide variety of exciting activities. The York Minster, an impressive Gothic cathedral with a long and storied past, is the main draw. The York Shambles is a quaint, cobblestone street surrounded by historic homes and shops, and the York Dungeon is a must for history buffs.
