The Mews is a detached former farmhouse set in a courtyard, on the edge of the village of Bessingby, just two miles from Bridlington. This cottage sleeps twelve people in five bedrooms, consisting of one double, one king-size double, one twin with basin, one ground floor twin and one ground floor bunk. The cottage also has a kitchen with dining area, a sitting room with a woodburner, a bathroom and a ground floor shower room. Outside there's ample off road parking and shared use of a rear lawned garden with patio and furniture. The Mews is a convenient base for a family or group of friends.

Five bedrooms: 1 x double with TV, 1 x king-size double and 1x day bed with TV, 1 x double with single and basin and TV, 1 x ground floor twin with TV (can only use the TV as a DVD player), 1 x bunk bed with TV, Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC, Shower room with shower only, Ground floor shower room with shower, basin and WC, First floor basin and WC, Kitchen with dining area, Shared external utility, Sitting room.

Area
The seaside resort of Bridlington lies on the east coast of Yorkshire, south of Scarborough and Filey. Bridlington offers two award-winning beaches, an historic harbour, promenades, shops, attractions and restaurants. Further afield are the picturesque villages and scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds, the resort of Hornsea and the heritage coastline.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Gas central heating with woodburning stove, Range cooker with electric oven and gas hob, additional gas hob, microwave, American style fridge/freezer, washing machine in shared utility, dishwasher, 6 x TVs with Freeview, Blu-ray DVD, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Two travel cots, two highchairs, a baby gate and a baby bath is available on request. Ample off road parking e.g four cars & bike storage - Electric charging point with designated parking space. Shared rear lawned garden with patio, furniture and BBQ. A private rear patio, enclosed by low fencing accessed from the patio doors, with gate to the shared lawn area - you are welcome to allow your dogs to enjoy this area unsupervised if you wish. Three well-behaved dogs are accepted by prior arrangement, first dog is free of charge, any more for an additional fee of £25, but please be aware when accessing the shared lawn area dogs MUST be supervised. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and dog-friendly pub is less then a mile away. Walk to the beach 1.5 miles. Note: Check-in 4pm, check-out 10am. Note: The area is dark if out walking of an evening so torches are provided, however this is fabulous for star gazing as there are no street lights around. Note: Seasonal Organic fruits and vegetables available for the guests to help themselves (please note this is not always available). Note: 2x summer houses: 1x summer house for children adults not allowed, 1x summer house with bird hide added to the rear. Note - During Christmas season the property will be fully decorated. Lovely location with large garden.. Kitchen spacious and well equipped.Living area needed a bit of a deep clean and some of the beds were a bit broken but overall very ample for our needs.

The property was in a very peaceful location, but close to towns, beaches, wildlife, etc.. It was super spacious and a great place to start the day with breakfast around the big kitchen table as well as a cosy living room to relax in at the end of the day. There was a large garden to enjoy as well as plenty of bath / shower rooms & toilets, so no queues. We used the BBQ twice, as well as a few of the many DVDs, plus one of the jigsaw puzzles in amongst the varying games available. Everything that we needed was available for us. We all had a great time.

Fabulous house, large and spacious.. Equipped with everything you could need, especially in the kitchen. Ample toilets/showers so no need to queue. Beautiful large, enclosed garden with plenty of space for children to play.

The place was homly, beautiful, spacious, and equipped so there was no worry of leaving something behind.. Even if you had, it was only 5 minutes away from either the local shops or Morrisons, so there was no need to go short even if you arrived late on the first night. We were able to enjoy every room, the patio, the beautifully kept garden -perfect size for the children and pets, and a haven for birds. The owner called in to ask if we needed anything and to wish us a lovely holiday both days we were there. Our only regret was not being there for the full weekend!!! Definitely, a must return!

The owner couldn’t do enough for us.. The property is in a peaceful location right outside Bridlington with a five minute drive to the seafront. The size of the property easily catered for our party of 4 adults, six children and a dog, with one of our party in a wheelchair, access and layout was no problem. The huge kitchen with its large table meant we sat down all together at mealtimes and all added to a great break. Will definitely return if we’re up Bridlington way again.

We left it very late to book for our easter break and finding somewhere to cater for two families and a dog took some doing. Then we found the mews. This property is very spacious, we travelled with 4 adults, 6 children and a large dog, all of which found plenty of room whilst there. The lounge has French doors onto a large garden which was handy for both the dog and kids to access easily. The kitchen is a fair size and with the table seating 12, we all sat round and had family meals every night and cooked breakfasts in the morning. We had an added complication that our disabled daughter eventually travelled with us meaning we also had a wheelchair with our group. The owner was on hand to welcome us and help with anything we needed. A brand new unused wheelchair ramp was presented to us when we arrived and made access into the house a doddle. With a bedroom downstairs this property is ideal if you have a disabled member of your party. Although the decor might not be to everyone’s taste, it’s durable and functional for a kid and dog friendly property. We felt the location for us was also ideal just outside Bridlington, peaceful and quiet and only five minutes drive from the centre of town. We would not hesitate to book here again if we were up this way!

What a fantastic place this is. Plenty of room for the whole family. The owners could not have done enough for us to make our holiday more enjoyable. Well situated to visit attractions around and not for at all from Bridlington itself. My 7 year old Grandson really enjoyed the spacious garden to play football. The cottage itself has everything you could possible want even down to what we needed for my 7 month grandson including high chair, bath and cot etc. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. The mews is a Huge credit to the owners and we would not hesitate at all to going back....

fantastic stay here last year plenty if room for all of the family there were 6 adults 1 toddler and 2 very playful dogs. it is in a nice quite location but not to fair to get to places. a short drive away to a few amenities such has a chippy a shop and a pub. owner was lovely very helpful l lovely utility room if needed to be used came each day to make sure if everything was ok

Have just returned from spending a fantastic family Christmas at The Mews in Bessingby.. The house suited our needs perfectly and was very warm and welcoming on arrival. The owners were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them, even down to Sarah turning up Christmas morning with a sackful of presents for everyone! Would not hesitate to book this property again.

A short distance outside the seaside resort of Bridlington which has all the usual attractions. We particularly enjoyed RSPB Bempton - well worth a visit, walking around Flamborough Head and visiting Hornsea. The cottage was all we desired, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

We booked The Mews for a family holiday for nine of us. The ground floor bedroom and toilet/shower were ideal for my 86 year old disabled mother. With some disabled equipment being supplied by the owners which helped tremendously. Our children and grandchildren loved swimming at the Bridlington Leisure centre where us oldies could enjoy a coffee whilst watching them in the pool. RSPB Bempton was well worth a visit and would highly recommend it. We had a walk around Flamborough Head, Filey, Scarborough and again highly recommended though further to travel - Whitby.

We had a family break here for a week it was shabby on arrival the property was advertise as ok for disabled....the ramp to the house was broken and very heavy(to heavy for a woman to lift alone) and covered in moss very dangerous. Beds were lumpy and old , lounge carpet & sofa's smelt of dog kitchen was not equipped for 10 people ...can say much more, overall it needs a good clean and all furniture pulled out and cleaned behind and updating. owner told us on arrival that the toilet extractor fan was noisy and electrician was coming back to fix it...he never came even though we complained about it. Fire alarm went off early one morning owner was unsure of code to reset it and it was from a cottage across from us nobody came to apologize...why was this connected to the main house.

Lovely cottage with many amenities.. Close to Bridlington beaches and many other places of interest. Ideal for us as it was a multi-generation holiday ranging from 16 months to 67 years. The cottage suited everyone.

The Mews is a very warm and spacious house which is perfectly furnished for holiday use, with plenty of sofas.. It is ideally situated for day excursions along the coast and into The Wolds. The owner is extremely welcoming and helpful, as is the neighbour. It was great to be able to take dogs and to enjoy the sizeable, pretty, enclosed garden and local walks.
