Drive a short distance to reach Portland Harbour and the craggy "Isle" of Portland, which is connected to Weymouth by the stunning Chesil Beach. Take a trip to nearby Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens or venture to nearby Dorchester, Thomas Hardy's "Casterbridge," located about 7 miles away. You may also just go to West Bay; the scenery along the Dorset Heritage Coast is breathtaking.
