Area
Cove Castle is the locals favourite beach area, sitting along side the Rodwell trail area, Cove Castle Beach is usually uncrowded, and offers safe bathing from it’s gently sloping shoreline. CoveCastle and Sandsfoot beach sit side by side, both with soft golden sand and the vibe of the best kept secret. Sandsfoot castle is just two minutes’ walk from the beach where you will find castle ruins, pretty award-winning gardens and a small café, offering snacks, drinks and ice-creams. Accessed off Old Castle Road in Weymouth, this area is a real treat for those who want to be away from the buzz and bright lights of the traditional Weymouth Seafront, and yet close enough to venture there when they choose. When you are on the beach you could be forgiven for thinking you are miles from town, and yet you are only a 15-20 minute walk from the old Harbour and access to Weymouth town centre. If you want to know where the locals would recommend you spend your beach days, then Cove Castle and Sandsfoot beaches are it.

The cottage was lovely and very comfortable but the walking distance into town was further than we thought it would be.. Needs more saucepans and the tin opener was broken, also it would have been helpful to have had a guest book so that you could leave tips for other guests. Deck chairs, BQ and fishing nets for children in the shed Ideal for dogs as the garden was very secure. We had a lovely time staying here even though the weather was not good.

Would have liked visitors book to pass on knowledge we acquired e.. G. dog friendly pubs and doggie walks. Lovely views from cottage and old railway footpath takes you to Chesil beach or into centre of Weymouth without using roads. A few more saucepan please especially if there had been more of us. The location and views brilliant secure garden very good for dogs or children.
