Mr Lewis
June 2019
Wow, wow, wow - what can I say? We have just returned from our first ever visit to Weymouth, and did we enjoy the week. The area is beautiful, we visited Lulworth Cove, Durdle Dor, Portland Bill, lunched on the beach at Wyke Regis, enjoyed walking around the lively harbour eating fish and chips, and sunbathed on the Nothe. Enjoyed a lovely boat ride, (where they even supplied a life jacket for out baby).
A perfect weeks holiday, made even more enjoyable from the superb accommodation provided here at "The Beaches", the position is fantastic, having breakfast looking out to sea, and the sailing boats, right in the centre of all the attractions, so nowhere was far to walk.
I must admit my wife was a bit dubious on going, after reading the previous feedback, as we have an 11 month old baby, which was posted after we made our booking, but our experience proved to be totally different. We were not bothered by noise at all. We popped into the bar next door "Aura" for a lunch time drink, and I asked about the music - it seems as though they operate as a quiet cocktails bar Sunday to Thursday, with only light background music, and do operate as a "club" on Friday and Saturday nights and are open to 3.00am. On these tow nights for a couple of hours we could hear a faint "boom boom", which we likened to hearing next doors TV thru the wall, as it certainly didn't bother us, and with our TV on we did not hear it at all. We put our son down at 9.30 as usual, and he slept the whole night, and we went to bed around 11.30, and were not disturbed at all. (I maybe feel the previous post was a little unfair). This is a beautiful apartment, brand new, clean and well arranged, beautifully furnished with quality furniture ( and plenty of it - two sofas and a chair for a one bed apartment!), well equipped with a least 6 of everything, the accessories are artwork are lovely (my wife wanted to take a couple of the pictures home), I must say the owners have put a lot of thought and effort into making this a wonderful holiday home - in a fantastic position - one which we plan on to return to later this year.
Oh and the icing on the cake, having a dedicated reserved parking space a few minutes walk away, on street parking, if you can find a space is limited to 4 hours for £6.00 and all day parking in car parks was £8.00, so it was nice to go out for the day, and know that when we returned we would have somewhere to park - and it did not cost the earth.
This is our forth self catering holiday since getting married, and we can honestly say this far beats anything we have stayed in.
Apologies if I appear to go on a bit - but we just loved it, and cant wait to return for another week later this year, and are so pleased we found this little gem, and discovered Weymouth. Our only regret is that s our family grows (hopefully), we will not be able to stay here, but I am sure Dream Cottages will have suitable accommodation for our family, as we will definitely be making Weymouth a regular holiday destination, as it seems to be such a lovely friendly family holiday resort (and being the dotting dad - aren't we all), I want to take my children on the beach rides opposite "The Beaches", and a donkey ride.
Many thanks for a wonderful holiday. - Oh and the Services Day parade on Sunday was wonderful, and to sit in the apartment and watch it was great.
