Meadow Brook Cottage is an 18th century, attached cottage beside a brook on a quiet hedgerow road a mile from the Devon village of Stoke Gabriel. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, a double and a twin with a family bathroom and a small dressing/cot room. On the ground floor is a kitchen and a sitting room with wood burning stove and a dining area. Outside is a big garden over different levels beside the stream with furniture on a terrace, a seating area with barbecue and picnic table and a summer house on one of the lawns. A mile from the village by road or ¾ mile by footpath, Meadow Brook Cottage is a charming base for a Devon break in a tranquil location.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Starter pack provided for wood burner (additional logs available at cost). Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available on request. Off road parking for two cars. Barbecue. Two well-behaved dogs welcome, Sorry no smoking. Pub less than 1 mile from property. Gardens on multiple levels, with steps between them (see photos). This includes steps up from the parking area to gate and a further path/ several steps down to front door.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Meadow Brook Cottage. The outside living space is fantastic and our kids enjoyed exploring the gardens and paddling in the stream. The local area is great too with a couple of good pubs withing walking distance. We also enjoyed the beaches at Goodrington and Blackpool Sands. Would definately recommend this place for a stay.

Meadow Brook Cottage is a charming, idyllic place to stay close to Stoke Gabriel, Brixham, Torquay etc. Excellent facilities including exclusive parking space, TV, Wi-fi (free), this property is ideal for discovering the Devon coastline, and is located in an area of outstanding beauty. Village of Stoke Gabriel is approximately one mile away, and easily accessible on foot or by car. The cottage is built on a hillside, and its approach is quite steep (not really suitable for disability) nevertheless its charm and gardens are great. Our dog loved the freedom of the outside facilities. We will certainly visit again.

We were unable to use the cooker as the outer panel of oven door was falling off.. A flan dish would be useful Very peaceful and a great place to stay if you can manage all the steps. ***Owner Response*** We're delighted that our guests found Meadow brook a great place to stay, but sorry that the oven broke unexpectedly. It has since been replaced. We were pleased to hear from our caretaker (who came out to see what could be done) that the lack of oven was not a problem for them.

We had a fantastic time at Meadow Brook Cottage.. It was a lovely clean and tidy house with everything that we needed. It is in a perfect location, you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, where it is quiet and peaceful but it’s under 10minutes to places with big supermarkets, beaches etc. We loved it- thank you!

Delightful place, spotlessly clean, very well-equipped, and the background sound of the stream running past the property made for a very relaxing atmosphere and lulled me to sleep every night.. The cottage is definitely for the able-bodied, due to the fairly steep steps down from the parking-area, and responsible dog-owners and/or parents need to keep an eye on their charges as there is direct access to the stream down 3 steps just opposite the door. Our dogs loved it!

The whole week was beyond our expectations, having been let down in the past.. I would definately recommend this cottage to anyone who needs peace, tranquility and just space to breathe. My friend and myself are looking to book this again at the end of high season. Thank you so much for making our week of rest and relaxation just perfect.
