29 years of re-uniting for an annual holiday, Parnacott is easily in our top 5 list.
We arrived along a driveway which sweeps round to the front of the house, there's a wow moment as we got our first view of the Georgian frontage appearing across the far side of the lawn.
Lots of room for everyone, three sitting areas with the type of comfortable grand country house furnishings and all the ornate decorations that go with a period house, paintings of some of the previous historic owners, and many fresh flower arrangements in the rooms giving that touch of grand living. All the kitchen and dining equipment in plentiful supply, and made very clear to ask for anything that hadn't already been thought of. We made good use of the small billiard table in one of the sitting areas, weather was a bit damp to try croquet on the front lawn, but there's lots of books, jigsaws, toys etc. for all ages including our , err...."young at heart? " group... Wish we'd brought our children when they were younger as they'd have loved the dressing up clothes.
Would love to know more about the history of the house and it's family, the owners are fantastic people we really enjoyed chatting to them. A good choice for our holiday... we intend to come back sometime, which is very unusual as we normally prefer variety.
